Acre, recently opened 2 years ago, is aptly named after 25 acre grounds. This restaurant provides an eclectic ambience, intimacy, and decadent food skillfully made to tempt every part of the palette.

The staff are absolutely lovely, all of whom go out of their way to make sure you have an extremely memorable experience. The owners, both of whom are always present, more than often greet you personally at some stage of your experience, and are very kind and personable, which is a huge part of the establishment's success: everyone is so nice!

Some of our staff favorites are the scallop ceviche and Brussels sprouts, the mole chilaquiles and the pancakes. If you really want to get a taste for the entire gamut do consider trying the “Chef’s Tasting” for around $70 USD and includes 14-16 courses. For an additional $70 USD you can pair this meal with some top notch wines.

If you like the farm to table concept you should definitely make this an obligatory stop during your vacation. Absolutely delicious.

You might get lost if you don't know where you are going, it is off a dirt road and eventually you will see the restaurant which is adjacent to the hotel. The hotel are rooms elevated two stories high (treehouse living). Next time I would consider staying for one night only, not by the beach but a ecotype property, organic, nature, and does have a pool. The entrance to the restaurant is amazing and the outdoor seating is spectacular but if it rains they shutdown. When you first arrive they have a tasting bar and you can try the local mescal while you wait for your table. The food choices are wide and the varied. You won't be disappointed with the menu options at all. Service was hit and miss, would go back though

We had one of our 50th Anniversary dinners in Mexico with our youngest daughter and her family on the day of their 15th anniversary at Acre. The same group of us were here last year. Envision having your taxi ($25 to $30 from town) leaving you at a sidewalk entrance where you walk along the path lined with palm trees, ferns and cactus past side paths to their tree houses for overnight rentals. Your first glimps of the restalurant reminds you of the simple lines of concrete modern structure. It is very functional and attractive. NOTE: Reservations are recommended.

The hosts/hostesses are very welcoming and just behind you is a well stocked bar managed by several mixologists. We were early so we ordered drinks and then sought the bocce ball court. Also checked the ping pong table and the fenced animals for petting and enjoying.

Of course, we requested out door seating warmed by the afternoon sun filtered by plants and a slight breeze. Our wonderful corner of the world for our special celebrations. Shortly thereafter, ther restaurant manager appeared with complimentary celebratory champagne to kick start our visit.

The waitress and all the waiters are excellent and attentive. Our meal started with onion rings, cauliflower three ways and cheddar biscuits. All treats we remembered from last year. From there, our orders varied and included lobster bisque, a salad, short ribs for two, several fish dishes and two ordered the shrimp tacos. So much food and so good that we all shared some off of each plate. Desert of course so we shared a slice of peanut butter pie and one of pineapple upside down cake.

Don't expect the food you order to be the same as what you get of the same name at your favorite restaurant. They put their own spin on the preparations. It is flavorful and appetizing.

Of course we overate and still had some to bring back to the resort. It was a memorable celebration.

Couldn’t be happier with our meal at Acre. Carlos gets 10 thumbs up for his service and expertise! Great atmosphere we will definitely be back. The cheddar biscuits and Brussel sprouts were terrific. Ribeye and short ribs were to die for. VERY large portions, so plan accordingly.
