I stayed at West Bay Club from April 28th, 2024, and it was a highly disappointing experience.
Upon arrival, we were charged a $200 accidental fee, which was processed as an unknown merchant charge on my card. The check-in process was disorganized, with distracted and confused staff. The room we were assigned was substandard: small, dark, dirty, and with a terribly uncomfortable bed. It was nothing like the room pictured when booked. We have stayed in numerous three and four-star hotels, and this experience was far below the standards we have come to expect from such establishments.
The hotel's amenities were equally disappointing. The complimentary breakfast was served in what appeared to be a rundown bar, and the waterfront restaurant was a dilapidated shack. The beach was littered with towels, food, and overturned chairs, with no staff in sight. When we attempted to call the front desk to inquire about alternative room options or a refund, we discovered that the phone in our room was not operational. The lack of security on site made us feel unsafe.
After only being checked in for an hour, we attempted to address these issues with the hotel staff, expressing our dissatisfaction and concerns for our safety and comfort. However, our complaints were met with indifference and unresponsiveness. As a result, we felt compelled to check out early.
I have since tried to reach out to West Bay Club on social media to resolve this issue, only to be blocked by them. This unprofessional behavior is unacceptable and further solidifies my dissatisfaction with their service.
I kindly request a full refund of the $2,387.60 charge to my account. I urge West Bay Club to address these documented issues and provide a fair resolution. Until then, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a safe and pleasant stay.
