Older property but a great place to stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Jul 2024
My wife and I stayed at the Sands and Sibonne in July 2024. Sibonne blows away the bigger properties with great service and a lot of style. The property is older and you won't get a large five star pool, but you don't need a pool because Grace Bay is steps away.

The rooms look cool and we loved the decorations in the two different rooms we stayed in. The air conditioning is incredible and the TVs had all the streaming you have at home.

We arrived really early and the office staff really helped us with our luggage. They allowed us to go in and out of their office to retrieve beach gear and beers I had in a cooler. I wish I knew your names in the office but all of you really helped us and made our stay great.

Bay Bistro is the restaurant on the property and it was really good. Cesar, the bartender, was so nice and makes the best Pina Colada I've ever had. We really liked the food at Bay Bistro and the prices were better than the other properties. Cheeseburger spring rolls, I don't know who thought of that but they were amazing.

If you book this property you have to expect older rooms and amenities, but everything worked well. The beach is close, the decor is cool, save some money and book at Sibonne!

First let me say we loved our stay. The location can’t be beat. The bed is comfy and the room large. Staff very nice. I will return. One small but we think important suggestion. The bathroom really needed attention. Tile falling off, dirty weak shower head and just overall in need a a facelift. Even changing the shower head would help. Again I would give this place 5 stars and will be back. Just a suggestion

Can’t say enough good things about this lovely little place. This was our first time staying here. When we first pulled up, my husband gave me a look as though to say, “are you sure this is the right place?” I had shown him all the reviews and I’m not sure what he was expecting, but it obviously wasn’t what he saw. No, it’s not the Ritz Carlton. Lol. It’s old and small, but very well kept. And the staff genuinely cares about your comfort while you’re there. It has an amazing garden right smack dab in the middle of it, and is literally steps from the pristine beach and breathtaking crystal clear turquoise waters. At the beach, Sibonne guests have their own private umbrellas and comfortable beach chairs, with fresh beach towels anytime you need one. The majority of the time, we were still able to get the hotel wi-fi even on the beach. The on-site restaurant, Bay Bistro, is one of the best in Grace Bay and the food is phenomenal. They have oceanfront tables where you can dine and watch the unbelievable sunsets. Lots of good places within walking distance if you don’t mind sweating a lot. Lol. If that’s not your thing, the front desk will call a ride for you to go wherever you choose. Most of our rides were into downtown Grace Bay and back, and it was $12-$14 each way. Plenty of good eats and shopping in Grace Bay! By the second day, my husband declared his love for this charming place and vowed that we are returning in 2025!

This hotel has everything you want and need in an island vacation. It might not be the fanciest place but it has everything you need. We are right on the beach. There are plenty of chairs with umbrellas. (no need to save a chair with towels as there are plenty). Some of the tour boats come right on this beach so it’s convenient if you want a boat excursion. The beach is long.. every morning I walk 30 minutes in one direction and could still go further. The rooms are great. There is a microwave, small refrigerator, safe, TV, hair dryer and coffee maker. The bathroom has a large vanity with counter space. A big plus for me. The shower is large with a low bench so you can shave legs comfortably. 2 bottles of water are brought to the room every day. The restaurant has great food. The pool isn’t the biggest but it is warm and fun to go in after the ocean. Every room has a small patio with 2 chairs to relax in. The hotel cat is friendly and sweet. Stacy at the front desk has been super helpful and friendly. We walked into town where there are several stores for shopping. ( Danny Buoys - fun bar for drinks/food) Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. (72 west @ The Palms ) There is a fish fry every Thursday that has local vendors. We are going tonight so I can’t say how it is. If you want a great vacation in a budget friendly hotel with all the amenities. Stay here you wont be disappointed!!

Room tip: Stay here.. I promise you - you are not trading value for experience. It’s not the Ritz but this hotel is clean and on the beach!

Just got back from a wonderful stay at Sibonné. The room and property were clean with a balcony over looking the ocean, which was a very short walk and plenty of chairs. We walked to dinner every night with plenty of options to choose from. The restaurant at the hotel was great as well. Would definitely go back!
