Visited on Easter Sunday, very busy but not rushed or chaotic. It’s a lovely cosy pub, really good food, my 5 year old ate loads of her pasta from the children’s menu which is very unusual!! The roast dinners were very tasty, tender meat and gorgeous gravy and plenty of it! If you are in the area it’s definitely worth a visit.

We needed a change to tourist fare after a week in Cornwall so looked online and found this place.
Advised them at the time of booking had our dog with us, and on arrival were seated appropriately.

Lovely warm welcome, nice beers and a good choice of food.

All as expected, and a nice change from all the pubs we are at that week.

We got a lovely greeting when we arrived, and the staff were very accommodating even though we hadn't booked. (I would recommend you book). The food was individually prepared so was beautifully cooked. My wife had the fish pie which was filled with locally sourced smoked haddock, salmon and hake. I had the pork chop, which was huge, which was served with black pudding and cider sauce. The meat was tender and our meals were superb. Desserts were great. Sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce was really light. I had the berry Eton mess. The fresh fruit, black currents and blackberries burst in my mouth. Gorgeous! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Plough.
