great diving . saw 6 turtles one dive. another dive saw several sea snakes. one dive I saw the largest angel fish I have ever seen. there is a school of marlin on far side of the island and they were numerous and made the diving very exciting. little garbage in the water compared to other places I have dived in Philippines. saw some fish traps but was told by boat crew not to disturb them as many of locals are poorly educated about this type of fishing. nevertheless many nice fish. the coral were very, very nice and little damage. we did one drift dive which was exciting . dives started in 4-5 meters and swam short distance to wall for deeper diving then end of dives back to shallows so no boring safety stops. corals in the shallows were very nice and many turtles there.

Having a boat trip around Apo Island with the crew of the Week Dive Resort was one of the most charming experience I've ever had! Swimming with turtles, seeing thousands of fish and sea snakes, and keeping astonished with all the beautiful undersea life were the incredible activities we did! The crew is extremely helpful and friendly. I really recommend doing this with this company.

Great dives at Largahan, Chapel, Katipunan, Rock Point West and East for novice divers. Beautiful reefs, excellent topography and abundant sea life! Have to visit again!

The experience of seeing firsthand the turtles swimming in the ocean bed of Apo island was just awesome. You don't even need to know how to swim coz they are just in the low tide area thus so great for children and adult alike. A big bonus is if you come on Wednesdays, that's the market day in Malatapay where you take the boat to Apo island. Cattles, pigs, goats, vegetables and fruits and the local people abound in the area during this day.

Now the downside. Boat fees were a bit expensive especially for local tourists' standard (P600 roundtrip) although if you are 8, you can get a boat for 3,000. when you arrive in Apo island you are made to pay an environmental fee of P100/person. Take note there was no information given in advance when you are still in Malatapay and register for the boat. Now as soon as you have paid and ready to explore, you are asked to get a local guide (for 300 pesos) otherwise you can't get into the cordoned area where the turtles abound. This to me was totally disgusting and unacceptable. Now when we're done and went back to Malatapay, we used the rest room and made to pay which is completely okay but then we were also asked to pay a municipal fee of P10! This is commercialization at its worst and discouraging for a lot of local tourists who had to save a lot just to be able to discover our local treasures. I hope the local government units will rethink all these fees and make it more affordable and accessible especially for local tourists.

Great reef and wall dive. The reef was extremely healthy so much so the fish were hard to see since they hid well underneith.
