Rooms are spacious, loft configuration is starting to look a little dated but is a nice touch. Sleeping is a little warm as the beds are at the top of the loft and the heat rises. You can control the thermostat but I found the temperature fluctuated a lot when I attempted to change it. Nice location for a walk downtown and the pool area is great.

Continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired and the walls are thin, so be prepared to hear about whatever pleasantries your neighbours get up to.

Overall decent place to stay for a few nights however, good couples getaway.

Very nice staff! We booked a deluxe double bed room that had warm bathroom floors, which was nice to have on a snowy day... but the shower drain was clogged & wouldn't be able to get fixed until morning, so they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a Loft that had a fireplace! Plus, free breakfast everyday & gift for our wedding anniversary. Sweet!

Recently stayed here for 3 nights - it has a great location, short walk to town & the parking on-site is really handy, especially if you have a hire car. The receptionist was really friendly when we arrived and it was really easy to find our room - also nice that you can come & go as you please without needing to go through the main lobby each time. Once we got to the room, we were surprised by the dual level with spiral staircase - really cute. The bathroom & shower were a decent size and asides from a number of hairs on the bathroom floor, it was reasonably clean. The downfall of the dual level was there was no way you would want to carry a suitcase up the small stairway & it also wasn't particularly easy to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night in the pitch black (if you were trying not to wake your partner)! There wasn't much floor space downstairs either so it meant we were constantly climbing over our suitcases. The other major downside was the air-con.... we got back after dinner on our 1st night & discovered the air con made an absolute racket (the sort of noise that wouldn't make sleeping easy), however the controller on the wall was in a locked box!! We called reception & they said they would send someone to turn it off - when the guy arrived we asked if the box could be unlocked or if he would leave the controller but he said the owner didn't let guests control the air con - THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! Completely infuriating to have working (but loud) air con but you can't change the temp, turn it off/on/up or down without calling staff, because the owner treats guests like children. We also couldn't open any windows & the separate unit downstairs wasn't powerful enough to cool upstairs (since heat rises) so it just meant upstairs was hot & downstairs was freezing if you left it on all night. I really can't get my head round the owners thoughts behind this & it is the main reason why I won't be recommending it nor ever returning. Also, the breakfast was shocking! Even though its only a continental breakfast, the selection was pitiful & the room it was served in was so hot that you couldn't bear sitting there for more than 10-15 minutes. We only ate here the 1st morning & then decided to venture out into town after that to get something actually substantial to eat. Such a shame, as if it hadn't been for the utterly stupid rules regarding the air-con & a poor excuse for breakfast, I think we would have left having a higher opinion of the place.

We were a family of 4 travelling to Banff for the Skiing. We kids aged 8 and 4 with us at the time so wanted somewhere where we had facilities to eat in the room if the little one got tired rather than go out everynight. In the event we didn't cook in there but the option was great. the room we were allocated was spacious although seemed to have been set up by adding 2 rooms together with the communal eating area and bathroom in the middle bit.
The pool was a welcome distraction for the kids at the end of the day and breakfast was more than adequate before hitting the slopes. However I have to say the staff made it really special going above and beyond to help where they could. this was apparent with the help they offered both when my husband collected the wrong case at the airport and also when one of the kids soft toys was accidently sent to the laundry with the bedding in Canmore. the lovely receptionist tracked him down for us and had him returned the next day. He was sat on the bed with some candy and a lovely note detailing the adventures he had been on so much so said child did not even notice his bedraggled state. Well done Charltons.

This was a great place to stay. Close to a few good dining places and quick drive downtown. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you out. I would recommend staying there to others. Rooms are nice, beds are good, great washroom with separate shower and bath tub. Will stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on second floor to me are the best.
