This hotel is absolutely amazing. The views are spectacular! (be sure to upgrade to a room with a view rather than obstructed view--it is worth the extra cost).
Aside from being beautiful inside and out, it's the staff that make staying here feel so luxurious. They were more than courteous--they treated us like family.

If you have an opportunity, this hotel is a must-visit!

Room tip: Upgrade to a Premium Room with a view. They are spacious and the view is worth the cost.

The Rimrock is always amazing! Sure COVID restricts a few things, but the extras (like the hot-dog firepits) are a nice touch. Rooms were great ... and the views tremendous! Best value amongst the luxury hotels in Banff IMO.

Room tip: Upgrade ... it's worth it!

Pro: The room we stayed in was spacious and looked clean. Good mountain view. Larkspa restaurant is great.
Cons: used shampoo and conditioner in our bathroom- the tubes had very tiny bit left in them. One would think used stuffs would not be left in a hotel room especially in covid times.
No microwave in rooms- this is not good for a family with little children.
Their facilities are mostly fully booked so we were not able to enjoy the hottub and pool
We didn't enjoy the food at the buffet restaurant so although we had paid for breakfast for 2days when booking, we only did one day because eating at the buffet felt like a pain! - the foods were not the best to say the least. And although we didn't use the second day breakfast, we were not refunded.
We ate at the Larkspa restaurant the next day, that was a good meal.
Honestly speaking, I dont think I'll return, I have had better experiences in hotels that aren't even this expensive

We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary. We tried several methods at the front desk to print something we needed, to no avail. First I forwarded the email we needed, then my husband tried. Then one of the ladies suggested we log into my husband's webmail from her computer. They went above and beyond to ensure we got what we needed. The Sunday brunch was awesome too. The concierge was very helpful too. I'd stay here again

We hadn't been anywhere since Covid had started and couldn't just have our daughter sit around during spring break. So we booked a room and bought tickets to go tubing at Norquay the next day (BTW, you have to do that!!). We were a little nervous getting out but everything we saw at the hotel, staff wearing masks, sanitizer everywhere and many other protocols made us feel comfortable. But what really put the stay over the top was the attention they gave to our daughter. She is Celiac so its hard to find anywhere she can eat that can offer anything more than rice or some vegetables. We booked at their Primrose restaurant after they told us they could accommodate Gluten Free; we really didn't enquire further as we have come to just be happy that there is any item on them menu that is GF. We were really surprised when we were in the town and got a call from the restaurant asking what she liked to eat. We told them some of her likes and dislikes and they started mentioning various dishes on their menu they could alter and make gluten free. It was great as she usually doesn't have options and just chooses from the 1 or 2 items on a menu that are GF. The dinner was great!!! She sat there and told them what she liked on the menu, she chose the Risotto which isn't GF, but they said they could do it GF. It also came with mushrooms, which she doesn't like so they removed the mushrooms and added other veggies; It was so nice for her to choose a meal that she really liked rather than just the one her body would tolerate; she ate it all, which is rare for her. It was the same at breakfast; she loves pancakes and although they didn't have GF pancakes on the menu they made some for her. They also accommodated me; they had a banana French Toast on their menu and I'm not a banana fan so I asked if I could just get regular French Toast; not surprisingly they made it for me. From start to finish the staff really made the stay great, our daughter wanted to stay another night, which again is rare as she finds being away from her GF comfort zone challenging, but she was right at home here. And BTW, the view we had was excellent, seems strange to only mention that now, but with the great service the view just became a bonus. If you go top Banff, try the Rimrock, my guess is that our experience is typical.

Room tip: This is a luxury hotel, but we considered the price more mid-range. Get a room higher up that faces the valley, view is so worth it!
