I felt like Chinese after a day on the road, and stopped into Silver Dragon about 7:30. We were initially dismayed at the huge crowd of people....mostly Chinese...waiting for a table. We signed in, and almost immediately 3 huge groups of Chinese tourists finished their early dinner and cleared out, and we were seated within 10 minutes by the wife of the husband/wife owner team. We were happy at our table for 2, but in several minutes she asked if we wanted a larger table, so we were happy to move. Both she and her husband were really nice, as were all the servers....fantastic customer service.
The menu is very nice...some authentic Chinese dishes, some more attuned to Western tastes. There was no crab, lobster, clams, or abalone on the menu to our surprise.
We ordered hot and sour soup, which was about as good as any i have ever had....flavorful, but light....not gloppy thick like you often get. For dinner we ordered shrimp with black bean sauce, pork egg foo young and baby bok choy in garlic sauce. Everything was wonderful. The egg foo young was by far the best ever....just pork, bean sprouts and a light omelet in a flavorful, not too thick sauce....sublime. The shrimp and bok choy were great also.
Pacing of the meal was great and as I said the Chinese male servers were excellent...very experienced and professional.
Truly a great meal.....not cheap as Chinese restaurants go, but the quality was worth it.
