I was hoping this was still the prime rib village but it wasn't. The scotch was excellent and a beef tenderloin supper for $30 was great. Saskatoon pie and coffee for dessert really topped everything off well.

It doesn't look much from the outside, it's seems to be part of the Tonquin Inn (a bit tired looking). but in fact the Whiskey Jack is separately owned and operated.
The Bar has plenty of choice and the food is actually very good with an Eastern European flavour.

Meals were good, tepid poulet, no local's discount. Excellent service, so there was that. Easy for conversation, lovely wood floors.

A nice place that’s convenient but in the winter season it was only open for breakfast on the weekends. The buffet was $15 (15% discount for Tonquin Inn patrons) which is a bit pricey considering the selection you get. Hot offerings included scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, and bacon. On the weekdays, I went over to the breakfast buffet at The Best Western Inn a block away. The food there was plentiful and much better. Hot offerings at the Best Western included waffles, pancakes, multiple sausages, bacon scrambled eggs, omelette. They also had a much better fresh fruit selection. It only cost $12. My recommendation... walk over to the Best Western (a block away) to get a better bang for your buck breakfast buffet! :)

We got a tip from a local that we should have a meal at whisky jack and we are sure glad that we did. This is not your usual fare. An inspired menu with a lot of variety and choices for everyone. The portions were well size for hungry skiers, flavourful, and satisfying. This will become a regular stop for us when we are in jasper.
