I've stayed at The Rosedale Manor on several occasions, and I found it to be a very comfortable and clean living situation. I work winters, so the Rosedale Manor was perfect for me. The suite was very large and completely furnished with everything you'd have at home. The building is quiet and in a quiet neighbourhood. It's far enough away from the highway so that you don't hear traffic but still close to all your shopping needs, Tim Hortons is only 10 minutes away by foot and there are plenty of fast food restaurants in the area as well. I recommend the Rosedale Manor to anyone travelling through Duncan or staying here for any amount of time, it is an excellent Home away from Home.

Stayed at the Manor for a week, while attending a wedding and loved it. It is very well cleaned, completely furnished to the last detail- even salt in the kitchen drawers. So much space that with no problem would fit a family of 4 (they also have 2 bedroom apartments). The location is perfect- very close to the highway but at the same time in a very quiet neighborhood. Having a private kitchen in the suite was probably the best thing- that way not a lot of money was wasted on the restaurants and take out. It indeed felt like I was home. The owners also have a Victorian Hotel in New Westminster- Arundel Mansion. A must see if you are ever in the lower mainland.

Rosedale Manor was really an eye-opening surprise, and an amazingly pleasant one. Just far enough from the Trans-Canada Highway so that you are not bothered by the traffic noise, but close enough so that the activities and attractions of Duncan are just a few minutes' walk away, the Manor is a comfortable and homey retreat where you can feel completely at home. The proprietors have done everything they can to make the stay memorable: When you first walk in you are greeted with a fine bottle of good Canadian red wine, fresh flowers, and yes, even Hershey's kisses on the pillows! The first thing that strikes you is just how incredibly spotlessly clean the condominium-like unit is... not just clean, but "scrubbed with a toothbrush in the corners" clean! Although the building itself is not brand new, the entire structure and the grounds are maintained with that same care and addiction to cleanliness as the interior of each unit.

The units themselves are completely equipped with everything right down to cups and saucers and forks and knives. The full sized kitchen has everything you would ever need to take care of any meal preparation. Then after dinner you can settle into the comfy wingchairs and sofa to enjoy both Canadian and USA television cable channels on the large flatscreen TV... and there's even a sizeable selection of movies you can watch on the combo DVD / VCR player! When it's time to surf, you'll find the WiFi almost fiberoptic fast!

Everything about Duncan is friendly and the proprietors are doubly so. They are not the usual pasted-on-smile inn-keepers but a couple that really care and do everything possible to assist you. You can read my other reviews to see that when a hotel deserves a blasting, I'm more than happy to be merciless but in the case of Rosedale Manor you can take my word for it that once you stay there, you might never want to leave! It's the most comfortable home away from home that can be found in the #1 best part of Canada: Vancouver Island.
