Description: Theo's is a family run Greek restaurant which opened in 1976. We use fresh produce from our garden when available and work with our local farmers and suppliers in the Okanagan valley to provide a menu which is both rooted in Greek village cooking and inspired by Okanagan ingredients.

We had a solid quality Greek Taverna experience with good food. Ambience is what you expect and service was excellent. Food was very traditional and what you would expect. Considering how high it ranks on trip advisor I was expecting maybe a fresh modern take on Greek so I was a little disappointed with the menu. I don't think it has changed in years. One positive was the gluten free options and the food allergy chart in the menu.

We have been here before and had good food, but it was not very good tonight. We had Kalamari for an appetizer and it wasn't cooked enough and was a bit slimy and tough under the coating. The buns on the table were cold and not very good. We didn't even eat them after having a bite. The ribs were okay, nothing special. The Rosemary Chicken was overcooked and surprisingly you couldn't even taste or smell any rosemary, which is generally a very strong herb. It was saturated in the sauce, which wasn't very appetizing. Even the lemon wedges were dry.

We visited here for a large family birthday dinner. The staff servers and owner was very pleasant and they all made our evening enjoyable. We appreciate it that they even let us bring our own cake in and kept it in their fridge until we needed it. Always a great go to place.

We went to Theos for an romantic dinner on our recent visit to the South Okanagan and like so many times previously we weren't disappointed. We've been going to Theos ever since it opened in 1976. The atmosphere is excellent. The service was attentive without being over bearing. The wine list is extensive and features some Okanagan wines that can only be obtained in restaurants. The food quality continues to be some of the best Greek food we've enjoyed anywhere. Caution - portion sizes are generous so go with a robust appetite

I haven't been to Greece, so I can't say what it feels like to be there. I can say that Theo's feels like somewhere else, not Penticton. Every nook and cranny is designed to have an old world feel to it. I thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of the restaurant.

The good.
The atmosphere, like I said above, was amazing. Even the old front door and the hardware is perfect. It rings true of an old taverna.
The service was amazing.
Most of the food was tasty.
Prices seemed fair, especially considering the portion size.

The bad.
The saganaki tasted of brandy. The flames didn't go long enough or something and the flavour was so intense we couldn't eat it. Wouldn't order it again.

The ugly.
Nothing.

I recommend this restaurant for good food and atmosphere and service.
