Rainforest Trail
Ranked #4 of 53 things to do in Tofino

Attraction details
Owner description: Rainforest Trail has two routes, A & B, both of which fully engulf you in the temperate rainforest full of gigantic western red cedars and western hemlocks. Sparking a sensation of zen, you will be overcome with the nostalgia of your childhood memories, ready to make more. Scan the upper canopy for birds, listen to the trickle of water and smell the life of this highly productive forest. Trail A is located on the opposite side of the highway from the parking lot. Trail B starts from the parking lot.

“Must see.”

We could not believe the amount of work that was done for making broadwalk so we don't get our feet wet. Once side of rainforest trail was closed due to mudslide. I would recommend just walk on the side that's open.

so beautiful but a little bit scary because of the idea that there could be wild animals lurking around. good thing there are many visitors here in summer, winter time is another matter

“Tranquil and amazing.”

Just a few minutes from the parking lot you will forget there is civilization nearby. Follow the winding boardwalk into magnificent rainforest. There are two trails, one on either side of the highway, each about a kilometer long. Both are worth doing. Do know there are a lots of stairs. Stop at the interpretive signs to learn about the vegetation and the ages of the towering cedars, breath the moist air and just enjoy the tranquility.

“Spooky Walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2012

My wife and I drove down to the Rainforest Trail and walked the western trail which is about 1 1/2 kilometres long. We were the only ones on the trail and it felt we were on another planet. The magnificent trees draped in moss were a sight to behold. The trail is not suitable for anyone who has trouble with stairs or who needs assistance such as a walker, etc.
