The service is awful. Absolutely awful. It's gone downhill big time since we started going 2+ years ago. We were quite upset when the staff would either ignore our quest to try and flag them down to order. If by chance we get attention, she would either nod and get back to what she was doing, which was checking the book, flipping the pages and serving other customers; or she would tell us, I'll get ur server to no avail. So frutrating. Unfortunately, we do like the food. Hubby thinks it's so so. In fact, he thought their japanese breakfast is awful. The only downfall with food is their sushi. Teishoki is great for those who enjoy a variety of taste/texture and flavor.
Run by a Japanese family and usually staffed by Japanese students on a work visa.
The food is authentic and really good be sure to try the miso soup
Very nice Japanese restaurant located inside a hotel, good selection of sashimi and cooked food, they even have japanese style breakfast. A very clean, spacious and friendly restaurant but without any fancy japanese decoration or sushi bar, but that is OK with us.
They moved in to a "family" restaurant in an apartment block and cook Japanese food. It is the real thing and well worth a visit, but the location and the atmosphere are unusual, to say the least. However, if you want good home-cooked basic Japanese for lunch, this is a good place.
