I had an outstanding stay here in 2014 and have been coming back ever since. This is a converted apartment building - so anti-chain it's awesome. As a business traveller it has all I need but also all the unique charm that I like without being quirky to the point of inefficient.

The management has this almost addiction to constant improvement. Rooms are so contemporary and open (ask for a room on the higher floors, the views are spectacular and there are balconies).

This time I got one of the new bathrooms with a stand up walk-in shower WITH dual shower head and handheld - was heaven every morning.

Kureig coffee machine, fridge, I love the multi-charger device next to the bed.

My only disappointment is that in improving the pool, hot tub and steam/fitness area they are out of commission for quite a while - and I didn't see this on their site or here on Tripadvisor. So if the pool is a deal breaker for you, call ahead.

One of the other treats is their restaurant Abode. It's not the usual boring hotel restaurant. They have legit espresso and good food.

Another BIG bonus is the very urban location - Robson is alive at night in a charming (not noisy or boisterous way). There are ample restaurants nearby (cheap fast sushi across the street) and a pharmacy and this cute Japanese food store I love dropping into.

A 24 hour bakery cafe around the corner too and a very quick walk to the sea wall.

Highly recommend.

Hello Paul N,

We are humbled and thrilled to read your glowing recommendation.

ABODE Restaurant's espresso beverages feature locally roasted Elysium beans brewed in our Synesso coffee machine - wonderful you noticed the difference.

We look forward to welcoming you back for many more visits.

The room was larger than expected and quite comfortable for two friends traveling together. As advertised, it was a corner room with a balcony. It is well located for seeing the tourist sites for a first time visitor to Vancouver. The front desk is very helpful. There is one restaurant on the premises that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking is also available (although it would be great if it were included in the price of the room!)

Room Tip: Our room faced Robson Street but was still quiet. Must be the thick windows!

Hello lesliealyce,

Our tower's cruciform shape creates a favourite feature of the hotel, 8 spacious corner rooms per floor - all our rooms are corner rooms with 2 walls of windows + a bonus of your own private step out balcony to better connect with our beautiful city.

Pleased that you enjoyed our walk everywhere location on Robson Street with its amazing variety of shops + eateries for every taste and budget.

We look forward to welcoming you back.

We stayed here for three nights before departing on an Alaska cruise. It was our first visit to Canada so as always, first impressions are important. Blue Horizon didn't let us down. It is conveniently located and is neat and tidy - nothing special but all that was required for a short stay.

Stayed here in late December to attend a Canucks game. Tried this location as it was an area we haven't stayed before. Location is excellent, tons of shopping and eating choices within a 5 min walk. Sky train station is about 4-5 blocks away and took us to the doorstep of Rogers Arena.

Room was a corner room with windows on 2 sides, very spacious and a good size HDTV and channel selection. WIFI was pretty decent as well. Beds were very comfortable. Large closets with a safe for personal items. We left our tablets out when we were gone with no issues.

My only minor gripes were that the pool was closed for renovations (I didn't check website where there is a small statement regarding this) and when I booked by phone it wasn't mentioned, nor was it at check-in. Also, it seemed one of the elevators was out of service, but didn't affect us on the 4th floor. Which is my last gripe. When I booked 1.5 months ahead of time, I requested as high a floor as possible. It was explained that for my room category 14th floor was as high as we could get. I reiterated the higher the better to take advantage of the beautiful views. 4th floor...not so much.

Parking is a challenge in this area but the hotel offers parking for roughly $20 per night with tax. It is not secure parking and they warn you not to leave anything visible, but maintain they hold no responsibility if you get a break in. They did mention a watchman strolls the parking garage. We had no issues mind you, just making you all aware ahead of time. Also, we have a 2012 F150 truck, and it barely fit under the height requirement. Trucks larger than ours won't fit (3/4 and 1 tons).

All in all, we would stay here again for the location, nice sized rooms and the pool area when it's complete.

Room Tip: High floors
