We visited the Hastings & Campbell location, which is relatively new. It doesn't have much atmosphere and the interior was quite cool (tempertature-wise). It seems to be in a converted garage. Seating is limited. There are only 4 tables on the west side of the counter and a living room arrangement on the east side with a sofa, 2 armchairs and a coffee table. There are also 4 stools at a counter looking out on Hastings Street. The first thing that hits you when you enter is the wonderful smells. Eight soups were on offer when we were there; 2 were vegetarian and 2 were vegan. A soup and sandwich were very reasonably priced and they were delicious. Their website has nutritional info for each of their soups in case you're watching your diet or sodium, etc. They seem to do a lot of take-out at this location (which may explain the low table to customer ratio). They were very busy around noon, when many local workers seem to descend on the place. The crowd thinned out after 12:30, so if you're not in a rush, this might be the best time to come. I look forward to checking out the other locations.

We just stumbled across this place while walking around in Strathcona Village. We weren't that hungry, but the sandwich and soups MADE us eat. Really friendly service - even a young kid (owner's son?) helping out who seemed like a natural for the restaurant business.

Good vegetarian options, too.

The location I visited was on Broadway, between Granville & Fir.
I ordered a Pannini sandwich - roasted chicken, Brie, Cranberry & Spinach, which was excellent @ 8.95 and a Borscht soup (combo @ 2.95 more). It was delish, though not as hot as I would have liked. I should have asked to make sure the soup was very hot before the server added the sour cream.
The restaurant has a fridge & freezer stacked with prepackaged soups that are prepared at the Venables St. location. They had a special 4 containers for the price of 3. I did purchase the Borscht to take home ;-)

Although the soup was very tasty, overall the visit was average. The soup wasn't very hot at all and it took a while to get someone's attention to change it. Prices are fair and the atmosphere in general is alright.

I was out walking in the rain on Saturday and really wanted a bowl of yummy soup! I always hoped for a place that was near the Stanley theatre.... and I FOUND IT!

This place is definitely worth a stop. They offered about 8 soups - all with great variety and flavour - I decided on the Cuban Black Bean soup with a tortiere! What a great choice.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. I grabbed a cozy booth and they brought my meal when it was ready. It was heart warming meal and was just the right size after all that rainy day walking.

Don't miss thsi place if you're in the neighbourhood. They even have take home paks of soups!
