Amazing market place, wonderful little shops inside and enjoyed taking home raviolis.
Reminder: if you are stopping on your way back to the states don't buy any stone fruit or corn as you will spend a loftlu time at the agriculture inspection and then have it confiscated!

Plenty of parking, better to visit during the work day. However, it was still pretty packed on a Friday.

Loved the Granville Island Public Market! The day we went, we were a group of 7. It was so fun to let everyone pick the food they wanted and then meet back together and sample each others! There was something for everyone! All so fresh and delicious! The dessert displays were amazing! Between us all we had sushi, pot pies, pizza, spring rolls, sandwiches....and we all finished with a variety of desserts. Amazing! Enjoyed GI public market much more than Pikes in Seattle.

In my earlier review of Granville Island, I mentioned that, for me, the biggest draw is the fresh produce and food stuffs. As a result, when we talk about Granville Island, the conversation inevitably shifts to the Public Market because everything you get here is fresh, whether it’s baked delights, seafood or fruits and vegetables. The pastries are perfect in their execution; the fruit is beautifully and intricately displayed to show off vibrancy and colour; and the seafood, well, you couldn’t get it any fresher unless you went out on the ocean yourself.

In terms of the food offerings at the Public Market, everything I’ve ever tried has been good to excellent. Laurelle’s Fine Foods features a nice selection and array of pastries, cakes and cookies, including decadent brownies, assorted cheesecakes and delightful cream horns, amongst many other delectable treats. Similarly, Stuart’s offers up some fantastic desserts and Artisan breads which are sure to please. And as far as “titans of Granville Public Market” are concerned, you also have the likes of Lee’s Donuts and Siegel’s Bagels, which I’ve described elsewhere as a “must stop” and “deliciousness you just cannot shake a stick at,” respectively. Both merit a trip to the Public Market by themselves.

Of course, the Public Market features much more than just food stuffs. It is also comprehensive in that you can come here and find unique gifts, hand-crafted products, local art and various other sundries. Taken as a whole, it is very easy to see how and why the Public Market has been referred to as the “jewel in the island’s crown.” When you combine the amenities, dining and shopping, you’re given an experience unlike any other available in the greater Vancouver area. Highly recommended!

Granville Island Public Market is a great way to spend a sunny or rainy or cloudy afternoon. It's very family friendly, but also great if you're by yourself or with a friend. There are enough shops and marketplaces to entertain people of all ages. The food is always great and there are many options no matter your food preference. Parking can be a complete nightmare, but it's worth it.

We headed to Granville Market from downtown Vancouver using the bus #50. It was a nice short ride and easy to get to. The market is full of different local foods and it was definitely difficult to choose what to eat. The washrooms were under construction but it was easy to find another. Watch out for the rather large seagulls. I suggest walking around before you decide on what to eat, to ensure you get what you want. The items were inexpensive and delicious.
