Trendy gourmet ice cream places have become all the rage, but places like this are why. What's not to love about ice cream in the first place, but when it's done this well, it's hard to resist being enthusiastic about it.
There are places that have wider selection; one Vancouver gelato place in particular has over 200 flavours on hand and is also worth a visit for that reason alone (they let you sample whatever you want to try), but what Earnest Ice Cream offers is evidently of a high quality. I had their Whiskey Hazelnut ice cream, and it can best be described as a lot of fresh roasted chopped hazelnuts, held together by ice cream that was hard to describe good. The whiskey was there, but not overwhelmingly so. Other unique flavours such as London Fog, Salted Caramel, Irish Cream, and Lavender, joined more "pedestrian" flavours such as Tahitian Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, and Cookies and Cream. If what I had was any indication, even the more traditional flavours, are likely kicked up a notch.
If you want ice cream, you won't be disappointed here.
