Description: Welcome to the Irish Times Pub, where excellent design and authenticity are at the heart of downtown Victoria's BEST IRISH PUB! Located at 1200 Government Street, the Irish Times Pub is home to 190 seats over two floors with 80 seats available on our patios, opening onto both Government Street and historic Bastion Square. Our concept goes far beyond mere architecture though. The Irish Times opened with everything it takes to make a pub successfully Irish, including authentic Live Irish music, 7 nights a week. The tradition of Ireland has also been extended to our menu, which has been developed on a philosophy of creating traditional Irish food and drink that is both contemporary and funky, showcasing Irish Pub Food as you would see in Ireland today. We have also just been awarded the best Irish pub in North America 2017.

I think of Irish pubs as stinky, sticky beer houses for frat parties, with menu's of Irish food poorly made or not Irish at all, like Corned Beef Tacos, or Buffalo wings.
Not Irish Times.
Brass is polished, staff clean and sharp. Bar doesn't smell underfoot like vomit & rotting beer. Menu is extensive, staff know what they're offering. Very pleasant experience.

A busy bustling Irish establishment set up in what was a grand old bank. Attentive service, loads of beer and food to fill the hungry tummy! The night we were there an Irish band of young lads had everyone's toes tapping and getting into the spirit. Highly recommend.

We had dinner here and were very impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. We thought the Shepherds Pie was like that cooked at home. The service was excellent and we caught the last 30 minutes of a very good Irish band.

Went there specifically for the Poutine (and beer). Never had it before and was told it was the thing to do. Crispy fries with melted cheese, we had it with bacon. Very tasty.

We sat outside on the patio, had a Guinness, fish & chips. The wait staff was great, the food fantastic. You could drink & people watch all day from here. There was good Irish music going in inside, whats not to love. I have nothing bad to say!!
