My husband and I spent one night at the Fairmont Chateau Whister, and it was a short but sweet stay. We experienced the usual Fairmont hospitality, and our room was clean and well-appointed. We were here on Labor Day weekend, so the resort was very, very busy - this unfortunately made the stay a little more hectic than we had initially planned.
The resort has a great location and it's very easy to walk to the nearby shops, sights, and restaurants. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant next to the bar, and I had one of the best burgers I've eaten here! Sadly, I can't say the same about the massage I got at the Fairmont's spa.
The spa is not actually a Fairmont spa, but is rather a separate spa company that is using space within the Fairmont. The sauna areas are separate from the spa and a little uncomfortable to get to from the spa itself (you have to cross through a hallway where non-spa guests are also walking around). If I had known this would be the case, then I wouldn't have booked a massage here.
Lastly, the property allows dogs, so if you have allergies (me) be forewarned - there were dogs all over the common areas.More
