If you're looking for a night on the town, George Street offers many different types of bars. Lots of very good restaurants within easy walking distance. We tend to leave around midnight to avoid any riffraff. We personally think that the security should be up to bit after midnight. Other than that it's a great time!
Mardi Gras is a MUST!

Its the heart of the entertainment downtown St. John's. Toe tapping music awaits you. The choice of establishments varies, its hard just to pick one or two or three actually.

We walked around George street and ate at a few restaurants on it and it seems like a pretty lively place. its neat how all of the bars on the back kind of melt together creating one big party atmosphere and also cool how there is always music playing on the outside of the buildings. I think it could be a pretty cool event to be a part of in the summer.

In the daytime, George St is a nice stroll for families to go to the pubs for lunch or brunch, but at nighttime, its an adults only playground. Hotels within a close walking distance are The Jag, Delta, Murray Premises & Blue on Water. The nighttime entertainment is amazing & almost every pub has a different group playing. It’s a culinary & entertainment delight. If you enjoy great entertainment it’s a must to go there at night. The summer time is at its peak for entertainers but when Memorial University is in it’s also fun times. The George St Festival started the last day I was there, which brings in bands from all across Canada like Blue Rodeo, Chilliwack & some imitation bands. You need tickets to get in but some daytimes are free and are good for familys to go to. It started July 27th & ended Aug 2nd. So book in for July 2018, you can buy tickets online so you know you will get in. This October, they are having a huge Halloween party. There are over 24 bars & pubs on George St. My favs are O’Reillys & Greensleeves which are across the street from each other. Christians Pub too as its great for Screech ins for all the Non-Newfies – See you on George St
