Although this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our two week trip across the East Coast, the Homeport hotel was beautiful, clean, and we appreciated the kitchen facilities. We stayed with our children, and although the kitchen had all necessary cooking facilities we did find that there was a very small number of cups, bowls, plates, forks, knives, and spoons, so we were doing dishes very frequently. The suite did not have a dishwasher which was not an issue as we were not making five course meals or anything, but did mean we were spending more time cleaning dishes by hand than we were anticipating as we needed to do that after every snack, drink, or meal.
Otherwise, the hotel had phenomenal internet speed (I tested 50 Mbps download and upload!), beautiful decor, and a convenient location for our excursions. There is a Sobey's within walking distance as well as a few coffee shops and other stores.
We visited during a rare Newfoundland heat wave (i.e. 30C for four days), which meant the poor air conditioner was working overtime. Although it kept the living areas very comfortable, we used one of the provided floor fans to blow cooler air into the bedrooms as they got uncomfortably warm during the day. Otherwise the room was perfect!More
