This wonderful tapas restaurant should be high on anyones list of must go to restaurants. We started out with delicious fresh oysters. Then we had the tuna sashimi, which was the most fresh we have ever tasted. We can't wait to go back.

My husband and I were here for dinner last Monday night. The place was full so they took our cell number and we went for a drink at Erin's. within an hour we received a call and were seated at a great table for two. The place was packed but the service was fantastic. The food was even better. Great presentation and the flavours were incredible. We had the baked oysters to start and once we tasted them we order another. We also had the tuna taco, seafood Ceviche, crispy octopus and the prawn and pork sit mai. Everything was so delicious that we ordered desert. The music was very good and the vibe of the place was incredible. Would highly recommend this place.

The food here is delicious! The atmosphere is energetic to say the least. It is loud here; they call it lively, but not too bad, and definitely worth it for the food. The energy is infectious. The staff are very friendly and attentive, could not ask for better service! The small plates are great for sharing and having a variety of foods and we enjoyed every bite. Prices are very reasonable. It is a small and busy place that does not take reservations, except for groups, so getting a table can take a little while. Our wait was at the bar, long enough to enjoy a nice local beer. We will be going here again for sure!

Coming from the restaurant mecca of the west coast our expectations weren't high and we tracked this down as a best place for oysters and those were great but everything was so far off the amazing scale. We went back to back nights so tried pretty much every seafood dish. Not a ho hum in the lot. Even familiar items such as ceviche and fish tacos were a step above. Prenominal service and a great vibe. Yes we had to wait but there are lots of pubs nearby to chill in until we got the call. In its niche this isn't just the best restaurant in SJ it is one of our best experiences world wide. Only bummer is we are again thousands of miles away.

We called ahead to this place to ask for a reservation....we couldn't make one, but were told that if we come down we'll get a spot in time. So, at approx 6:30 April 15, 2017, our table of 6 arrived. The hostess told us that there were two tables that would accommodate our party, but it might be up to two hours till a table is available but that we were next in line. No problem. We went to another spot for a drink as there was no room at the bar. Approx and hour and 45 mins later, my brother went to check on the table and was told another 25 mins. Fine. We all went back 25 mins later and were told there would still be a wait. We asked how long. No response, but what we did realize was that two tables were sat at the tables that we were told we were next in line for. We expressed our displeasure at the way we had been treated and at one point, were told that once we were sat we would get a round of drinks on the house. Fine. Next thing we knew, another hostess approached us and said that there was now a table available BUT, they were not comfortable seating us because of our aggressive behaviour and swearing. Then another guy comes over and tells us we need to "leave". ARE YOU KIDDIING ME??? At no point did we swear , or behave aggressively. We waited almost 3 hours for a table that obviously we were never going to get and YOUR staff lied to us, embarrassed us and wasted 3 hours of our evening. I'm still shaking my head over the whole incident. The staff that were in charge last night clearly need a lesson in customer service. So disgusting. Thankfully, upon leaving this place we were welcomed with open arms by the Merchant Tavern, who gave us the best table in the house, treated us like gold, and we gladly spent our $1000 there. Not a typo...that's how much you lost on one table last night because your staff are either dishonest, or disorganized and can't admit when they made a mistake. Will never eat at this establishment and will NEVER recommend it to anyone. In this day and age, you can't expect to treat customers like that and not expect word to travel. The owner of this establishment should be embarrassed about the behaviour of his staff.
