Had 2 meals in our short 2 days at St John. The food was superb, and most importantly, it made us feel right at home. Being Asians, and one of us being vegetarian, the food was great even for the non-vegetarian. The owner was kind and warm, welcoming to our 2 visits! Food portions were generous, and particularly loved the barbecue pork (mock), rice roll and tofu skin roll! Chinese tea was fragrant too!

Would miss the food here! Doubt we can find such yummy vegetarian Chinese food back home even!

Fabulous food, entertaining owner whose very knowledgeable of the food and it's origins. Food is of the highest quality, fresh and beautifully prepared. Endless glasses of green tea and a wonderful variety of sauces. I held back one star because the atmosphere, while funky and fun, wasn't up to the same standard as the food. I would still recommend highly. Definitely going back

This place has awesome food, and meat eaters love it too. The owner is super kind :) Try their "chicken legs" and Kung Pao. You cannot beat the price either considering the large portions, unlimited free tea and a free soup appetizer.

I've eaten here many times. The owners are friendly and treat you as if you were eating in their own home. The food is fresh, delicious, and healthy. Don't be scared by the vegan label - there's lots of things on the menu that you will enjoy eating despite the lack of meat there. And the prices are excellent! If they upped the prices a bit here, I would be okay with that!

My boyfriend and I ate at Peaceful Loft while visiting St. John's. We were both shocked to find a vegan restaurant (let alone Chinese vegan) in Newfoundland, as I have been going there for years to visit family and know it is a very meaty city. We wanted to try some different foods, and the menu looked great.

We were right, as the food was incredible. The owners (husband and wife) run the entire place themselves, and they are friendly, sweet, and very likeable. There were endless options on the menu, and my boyfriend (who does eat meat), was amazed at the tofu chicken he ordered in his dish - he said it tasted just like chicken!

As soon as we entered we were greeted with tea and fresh soup, and the owner chatted with us a while. It was decently busy and the flow of people was constant.

100% recommend this restaurant, especially if you are in Newfoundland for a while and want something different. So enjoyable, will definitely be going back whenever we are in St. John's!
