Review of Blomidon Inn
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Sept 2020
My wife and myself stayed at the Blomidon Inn for one night and dinner.
We had heard great things about the Inn so we booked one night.
To be honest the Inn from the outside looks outstanding but as you enter the Inn looks tired with very few period pieces. Our room was on the third floor and was quite a hike up carrying our bags and belongings. Defiantly not recommended if you have any health issues.
We had ordered dinner prior to our stay and again the dining room looked tired and lacked ambiance.
The dinner served was exceptional with halibut as the main course and I give my compliments to the chef and the dining room staff for making our dinner experience wonderful.

Enjoy the lovely , professional gardens and stunning outdoor summer patio, with pergola and gurgling peaceful fountains. This is the Nicest , beautiful patio to relax with a drink.

We were a bit nervous about our first overnight outing this year, but since this was our 12th stay at the Blomidon Inn, in that many years, we had every confidence their professionalism and perfection would surpass any concerns. We were incredibly fortunate to be able to reserve the Perth Cottage for 2 nights, as the inn and dining room were not opened fully yet. We were grateful to be able to come to one of our very favourite places. As always, we were greeted warmly by Mike, all of us having a bit of a chuckle over needing haircuts but we were able to check in safely with contact less payment and no concerns. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we knew we were in good hands as usual. We had a wonderful 2 night stay, the private courtyard was gorgeous for trying our favourite Nova Scotia wines and is a perfect place for avid birders, we were entertained by at least 20 different varieties. The bed was super comfy, nice fireplace and enormous hot tub for after hike and great little kitchenette with all the amenities. Can't wait to come back in the Fall for our annual retreat. This was a wonderful experience and we felt truly lucky. Huge Thank you to Mike and the great staff!!

Room tip: We have stayed here many times and even the smaller rooms are lovely, there are NO bad rooms

Three friends and I went to the Blomidon Inn for a short winter get away, We had lovely adjoining rooms with a comfortable sitting room with a propane fireplace. The two bathrooms were spacious, well appointed each with a large walk in shower as well as a jacuzzi tub. Dinner was delicious, perhaps an understatement! The spicy lobster bisque, pork tenderloin and to finish it off chocolate caramel cheesecake were wonderful. That was just my selection. The haddock looked equally delicious. The continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Best of all was the friendly, accommodating staff, each with a welcoming smile.

Restaurant website should be updated to Reservations are required, website is misleading. It is a nice Restaurant the food and atmosphere is nice but it would be nice to be aware that Reservations are not optional that they are required.

A business trip brought me to this most unlikely business hotel in the town of Wolfville. It is a charming little hotel, harking back to the old Colonial days, with a significant British imprint. The decor and the ambience match those of the old colonial bungalows back in India, with four poster beds, fire places and those long dining tables. They will rustle up a good vegetarian meal on request.
Rooms are decent sized, with good comfort and heating. Here, I realised the meaning of the term “climbing into bed”. Overall, a comfortable and charming place.
