I wish hotels would let you control the heat I turn off heat at 10 pm still 72 in my room. Way to warm for me 65 is what I like when sleeping. Why do hotels decide for you what temperature you should like

Dear guest,

Thank you for your valued feedback! We are glad to see you found our hotel to be nice and clean - both something we strive to maintain. We can certainly appreciate your comment about the temperature in the room. Each room is equipped with its own unit and the temperature is controlled from a unit on the wall. Each room in ours and most hotels is set to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Each guest can control it from there to their liking. However, it is important to note that it might take a little while for the room to loose its temperature once it is lowered. Once again thank you for comments and we hope to see you again on your next visit to Barrie.

Stayed here with five friends pre-conference. Interesting to note that although we all booked on the Sheraton website, within about 20 minutes of each other, some of us paid a $10 more expensive rate. Not sure why the difference, but there you have it. Hotel staff was very friendly at check in (go Nina!) and was willing to accommodate our requests. Prior to going out for the evening, we relaxed in the lounge and enjoyed the space. I had an accessible room on the first floor, overlooking the back. Thankfully a good thing, as friends facing the front of the hotel complained of noise all night (the snowplow came through four times apparently, and a couple decided to have conversation at their car at 2:30 a.m.). While these are 'normal' noises, one shouldn't be hearing it from inside the room with the windows closed. As well, room doors have about a half inch gap at the bottom, so again, noise from the corridor is easily heard. Thin walls make it easy to hear what's going on in neighbouring rooms.

Frankly, had expected a better experience.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the back of the property (odd numbered rooms, I think)

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for commenting on our friendly staff. We will have our maintenance department to inspect the door of the room you stayed in immediately and perform any necessary repairs to it. We understand and apologize that your friends were woken up by snow plows and conversations. We are happy to advise that we have many rooms facing the green space at the back where it is quiet especially on the upper floors.
Once again thank you for your valued feed back and we do hope to see you again when your travel brings you back to Barrie.

This is a small but cozy hotel. They offer coin laundry service which is a big help to a long traveller. I arrived there close to midnight prior to my skiing day, and received very warm greetings from Max. My room is clean and cozy. Breakfast are valued with many choices.

My wife and I were going night skiing at Mount St.Louis and needed a place to crash overnight on a Friday. This hotel fit our needs. Parking close to our suite was an issue when we came back, but by the time we stowed our gear, a spot opened up near the door. We knew that a hockey tournament brought a bunch of kids to the hotel, and were put on a floor that was relatively quiet.

A special thanks to Ron and Nina at the desk in their flexibility to accommodate during a busy hockey tournament.

Room Tip: Ask if there are sports tournament teams staying there.

New property, near box stores and strip malling shopping, but not really walkable to anything in the winter. Pool was a bit cool, hot tub was a bit too hot (and I like it very hot, so that says something). Friendly service at check-in and throughout stay. Restaurant and in-room dining, but selections quite limited and not especially well done. Good Platinum recognition for SPG elite members.
