We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights, and would recommend it to anyone who wants cheap accommodation in the suburbs of the city.
The apartment was clean and bright, with three good sized bedrooms. It is perfect should you have a car, as it provides a designated parking space behind the apartment block for your car.
There are a number of options to get into central Ottawa, however we used the number 14 bus, which was only a couple of minutes away from the apartment door, and dropped you off in the city centre.
This is such a dirty place. From the entrance till the inside! Even one of the bed (which is in the middle rm), you can't sleep on. Good thing there are 3 bedrooms. After informing the owner, a lady cleaner came. She was kind and apologetic. However, although she acknowledged that the place is indeed a mess, she still asked us what is it we want to be cleaned. I requested to have it vacuum but she said there's no vacuum on the building. Anyway, she did the thing I asked her to do. When, she left and started to use the kitchen. Kitchen counter is so sticky. Plates and utensils are not washed well. Obviously, we needed to wash the countertop including the plates and utensils we will be using. There are only 2 casseroles for cooking which is just ok and 1 frying pan. The pan is not usable as the teflon is peeled-off. So, we bought our own pan. The floor makes so loud noise when you walk. You can also here the noise of the floor from the other unit/s particularly at night. For sure the owner or at least the caretaker didn't check the condition of the apartment we booked. A bad experience for 3 days!!
We chose this to a mid-range hotel as both more comfortable for four of us and more economical. Three bedrooms, kitchenette and sitting area with dining table. One combined shower room/toilet. One thing to note is squeaky floorboards outside bedrooms - if someone early riser and others not, pretty impossible to sneak about quietly!
About 10 minutes away by car from city centre but on a quiet street. Good walking nearby on grounds of experimental farm. Bus into town within 5 minutes walk away. Corner store two minutes walk away, convenient for first day essentials such as milk. Choice of dine-in places (most of which do delivery) within 5 minutes by car, and within 10 minutes is Wellington St West with many eateries, some very fancy.
Owner responded promptly to queries including when we were in the apartment. It was good to be able to spread out in the apartment rather than be on top of each other and feel hemmed in as in hotel rooms. We were pleased with our choice and will be happy to rent again.
We are lucky to find the nice place for our Tulip trip at Ottawa. The location is near to the Commissioners park and to the Parliament。 This apt looks new renovated, so all shows very clean and comfortable. It provides basic Kitchen utensils and condiments.Fortunately, we brought some, so we lived there as comfortable as at home. However, my friends cannot sleep very well because the new floors make voice when walking in the midnight.
