Upon your arrival you will instantly have a life long rapport with David. A gracious and attentive host, he leaves you wanting for nothing.

The accommodation for my stay was the Yellow Room; a lovely, large and bright room that is conducive to reading, so much so, I read 2 whilst I was there. Should you not remember to pack your own reading material there are, throughout the house, a plentiful number of volumes in a variety of subjects from all categories of the dewey decimal system; from art history to local attractions to even *gasp* romance novels.

The many fabulous paintings, etchings and objet d'art are intriguing and make for delightful conversation. A curator in his own right, our David. Sumptuous furnishings and architectural accoutrements truly make one feel royal without the pomp and circumstance.

I felt like the lottery winning Goldilocks the first night; the pillows were of perfect firmness and the many bolsters and cushions on the bed made for reading or watching a dvd in bed most comfortable.

The French milled soap with unobtrusive scent and thick thirsty towels made the pre bedtime shower an event to look forward to. No shortage of hot water in this old mansion.

Breakfasts were a delight and a surprise; one never knew what the baker (David) had risen to accomplish that morning. He prides himself on sourcing local and his research will hold you in good stead. I loved the soupcon addition of pulverized to smooth prunes to the (locally made) yogurt dollop placed lovingly on the fresh fruit medley. Genius !
One morning a cheese omelette with cremini mushrooms, another day (again, locally made) 3 cheese egg burrito, the next; raspberry pancakes with just outside of town farm fresh artisanal sausages !

I simply could not tear myself away from the luxuriousness and stayed an extra night and plan to make this an annual early winter trip. It's not just about the theatre darlings however, it's a short block and a half walk to the Studio theatre and its surrounding restaurants. Brunswick is a one way street so if driving, turn south from Ontario St. on Nile to access.

Room Tip: ceilings are tall ergo; many stairs, but worth the climb however, you will have a difficult time choosing which room, the first time.

This was a great place to go. My whole family loved it even though we had a couple of picky people in our group. We all loved the rooms and the food was all from the Stratford area! We loved the owners of the inn as they would always say hi as we walked by and you can trust them too. We loved the things around the house as you can tell these houses had a history. This was a great place to stay.

Room Tip: The penthouse is a good type of quirky!

When one combines the ideal location with the incredible host David, who personifies the artistic Stratford - visual and performing, culinary and architectural, history, - the visit becomes a complete one. And the setting and the atmosphere of David's well thought-out breakfasts were the best way to open the day. Reserve early, very early...

David is the most entertaining, genial and generous host one could hope for. The Three Houses is unique, historical and perfectly appointed. Stratford is the highlight of our vacation destinations.
Besides being an excellent chef and conversationalist, David extends himself with all his guests, anticipates their needs and desires and sacrifices his time and efforts to ensure that each quest has a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Each room is beautifully appointed, artistic and elegant.

We have been going to the Three Houses Inn for several years now and have never been disappointed. David, the proprietor, is amazing and has given us great advice in dining, theatre, and Stratford activities. He knows everyone in town from the restaurant owners to the actors. He and his amazing staff always take care of us, and one of the people in our party even had very difficult dietary restrictions. The accommodations are always wonderful. There is also always a porch or a patio location as well as the delightful pool area for our use. The location of the Inn is perfect for dining and less than a five minute walk from the Avon and Studio Theatres. Staying at the Three Houses is always a special vacation experience.
