Grew up in this neighbourhood and this restaurant has been around forever (20+ years)! Probably one of the first Pho / Vietnamese places in Scarborough and hasn't changed much at all.
Atmosphere / Location: Busy Bamburgh plaza with a Foody Mart grocery store, McDonald's, and other Asian restaurants (Korean and Chinese). Lot of Asian drivers, so beware. Typically go late evening (8pm+) when it isn't as busy. They're open relatively late (1am) on all days which is nice. The restaurant itself is no frills, very casual, borderline dirty. Don't come here to impress your date.
Service: The owners are nice, but servers are always in a rush. Don't come for service either, it's non-existent. They will only come to your table if you wave them down for something. Food is served incredibly fast.
Food: Pho is excellent - broth is flavourful, 'dirty' in that it's not clear (but that's why it's so good) and they're very generous with their beef portions, even in their Small bowl size. One of the main reasons why I return. Other Viet restaurants are stingy with the beef! Wish the broth came a bit hotter at times though. Rice dishes are good too. For appetizers, their 'fresh' spring rolls are passable, but not that great - too much lettuce. The deep fried spring rolls are usually pretty good.
Value: Competitively priced and 'cheaper' than the newer Vietnamese restaurants in Scarborough / Markham. The quantity of noodles and beef is more too, while the quality is just as good, if not better!
Overall, come for the Pho only and you won't be disappointed.
