This was our first time to try the Omakase set menu done by the chef. It was done to perfection. Perfection ! At first we thought that it was a simple meal but it turned out to be a hearty meal ! Service was attentive and prompt. After having tried regular Japanese food in other restaurants, this was simply different and a nice experience !

We dined at Kaji as a family celebratory dinner. It was fantastic. A very interesting meal with a large variety of food that l normally would not pick but tasted delicious when served. The quality is amazing, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere quaint!! Definitely an evening we will remember fondly

we went for dinner...2 of us. Had their 130 and 180 dollar prix fix dinners with 20 dollars for sake....total bill $425....crazy. And we walked out hungry and angry and feeling very
ripped off. Shame on you Kaji. You charge and extra 50 dollars for 3 paper thin slices of fat beef...basically ONE BITE if you compare it to a real steak...shame on you. Of course you don't know this when you order...it all sounds good on the menu...until they serve it to you....it's actually more than 50 bucks because you don't get the soup that comes with the 130 dollar menu...so $70 dollars for a bite of fat greasy paper thin steak. Shame on you Kaji. This meal should have cost about half of what we paid. I want a refund.

I've been to Kaji twice. Once a few years ago and had a fantastic experience, and another recently and had a very mediocre experience. I'm not sure if it's because I've had better high-end sushi since then, or if their quality has gone down, or a combination of two. However, I can say that at its price point, there are certainly better options in Toronto.

If this isn't the best Japanese restaurant in Toronto, then I don't know what is. We went there knowing it was ranked highly, and not your run of the mill all you can eat place. This was a performance, and there were only two dinners to pick from the menu. The menu is deceiving, and you might think you only get 4 dishes, but be prepared and come hungry. It's like a Mozart Symphony. It starts out low and ends in a bang. I can't wait to go back. And btw, don't expect to be ordering a dragon or California roll. This is for real, and yes it's in Etobicoke!
