I am just back home after visiting family in Toronto for one month. We stayed in the Upper apt on Wineva Ave. The apartment was just perfect, a home from home. It had everything you could want,Lovely big balcony perfect for a barbecue with the family. Just five minutes walk down to the beaches and the boardwalk. You can catch a bus or a tram at the top of the road to take you down town, or you can park your car out front. Rob the owner was on hand if you had any problems or needed imformation . He was really helpfull. We have already rebooked for next year.
We just arrived home from spending a week in Toronto at this rental. The space was just perfect for our family of 3. The host was very helpful with tons of information ahead of time about parking, transportation, local restaurants, etc. He even called on our way in to town to alert us to a possible traffic problem near the house!
The beach is literally within view of the sidewalk in front of the house, and there is a nice boardwalk along the edge that we enjoyed walking on. The neighborhood is quiet and there are multiple restaurants and stores within a couple of blocks.
We enjoyed the balcony/porch, and also resting in front of the gas logs in the living room. The beds were super comfy and there was so little street noise that we slept great. I really appreciated the Keurig coffee maker for quick and easy caffeine in the mornings!
We were able to park our car on the street very close to the house and leave it there for the whole week (with the very reasonably priced pass that we purchased from the city), and then we rode the streetcars everywhere we needed to go. It's about a half-hour ride into downtown, but totally worth it to avoid the traffic!
This second floor apt in a lovely house is great. It has a wonderful front porch that captures the morning light and heat and is shaded from the afternoon sun. The porch has comfortable chairs, a ceiling fan and gas barbeque. We spent a lot of quality time on the porch. The living room and dining rooms are large and well furnished. The pictures on the website accurately reflect the apt and there are a lot of extra touches (art, good glasses, well equipped kitchen, etc) that make this feel like the lovely home of a friend rather than a sterile rental. There is a gas fireplace that I think would be heavenly during cold weather (but we didn't use). There is also air conditioning which was welcomed as it was very hot the first couple of days we were there. In general, open windows and a fan were enough as the apt gets good air flow. The air conditioning isn't powerful enough to cool the whole apt optimally during an extreme heat wave but it was definitely good enough and bedroom temperature was fine (and it was stifling outside for those days). It was great having access to a good quality washer and dryer. Rob provided all supplies for kitchen, bath and washing which is an unusual touch and greatly appreciated. The bed was really comfy and had plenty of pillows/comforters. There were also ceiling fans in the bedrooms which I really like. The bath was fine and the shower has great pressure. Internet was fast and reliable. Street parking was easier than I expected. You'll need to buy a parking pass to park on the street overnight and it was very easy to do so online. The house has a passcode to enter instead of a key, was easy to use and it was great not having to locate a key each time we came in and out.
Rob and Lynette couldn't have been more helpful. Rob was very responsive to questions prior to us arriving and sent an extensive welcome document with everything you'd need to know about the apartment and gave great recommendations for restaurants and activities. He helped us with boarding for our dog for a couple of the days when we were there and welcomed our well behaved pooch in the apt the rest of the time. We didn't have access to a printer and Rob even printed off our parking pass! Once we arrived, Rob or Lynette continued to be very helpful including getting us limo info for an extremely early flight for my husband and answering questions about Toronto. My husband and I travel extensively and often rent apts/houses and this is definitely a great, comfortable rental. Also, location can't be beaten. The house is 1 block from the beach which has a great boardwalk and a half a block from Queen Street east where you can find all kinds of great shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet and it was a good walking neighborhood with lots of lovely houses to look at. Neighbors were friendly and nice. Easy ride into downtown area and harborfront. I would definitely stay here again if our travel bring us back this way again. Between the actual rental, the location and the owners attention to detail and guests needs, this is a perfect rental for a couple, 2 couples/friends or a small family.
