I have been to a few drag shows in my time and this one put them all to shame. Amazing staff, fantastic shows, good drinks. A must visit for anyone spending an evening in Montreal. You won't be disappointed. I plan on returning soon for another show! Tip: buy tickets in advance (online) since it fills up fast!

We were a group ranging in ages from 20-70. We all enjoyed it! I can mark this off my bucket list now. Thanks for the laughs.

We went here for New Year's Eve. It could not have been a better place. There were all types of people as patrons and the ladies were flamboyant and hilarious. I wish I knew what was being said in French because it was getting huge rounds of laughter.

Amateurish house although this drag house venue was built by Mado herself.
I'm sure Mado tries to manage this place at the best of intentions however it is quite the opposite. The staff overall is rude and see the world within their own bubble and must say the door policy is strange and kind of a rip off.

We were sitting at the bar having drinks and around 6:30 someone at the door comes up to us and asked us to pay the "door" fee for the show that was about to start later on ...

The door fee as explained was for the "show" starting later...
We were a group of 5 and spending $$$$ at the bar

The way it went : Pay the door fee or you must leave the bar, or the bar will charge you the door fee as extra...(something like that) Mind you it was not even a show, it was just same ole shows they've been doing over and over again. There was no production or guest - nor Mado herself.

The staff had no class or good judgement. A big turn off.

Let's go back to the shows which I've seen many times, it's like watching a high school performance. Some drag queens don't even have the right culture to cut it as a drag queen there yet they keep them! It takes a lot more than "dresses" and "make up" to be a drag queen.

Most of them have a bad attitude, not as friendly as you might expect. Especially those who mingle with the clients as "guys" then "after the transformation" they give you attitude because you don't know who they are "outside the dress"!!!

It's the only place for drag shows along with "cocktails bar" further down the road. But it's all the same drag queens who switch places. There is no substance, but it's just as local as it gets with lame content within the performances. Go visit for yourself and judge!

We left and basically we won't comeback as much, it's usually ok for a visit a year; there are other better bars to hang out around - or watch Rupaul's drag race on iTunes ! That's the best drag fun you can enjoy at the privacy of your own home lounge :)

It's only worth it visiting the place when Mado is there performing, that's all. The place without Mado is nothing. There's only one drag super star in that house and that's Mado.

Though probably not for everyone, Cabaret Mado on Ste. Catherine Street in Montreal is a complete hoot. Featuring classic lip syncing drag queens, great drinks and a very convivial atmosphere, Mado is naughty and fun. Be prepared to pay for your entry/cover charge in cash, but drinks can be bought with a card.
