Best street to walk along as you tour Old Montreal. The flavour of Europe that you cannot find in any other North American city.

We stayed at an Airbnb right on this street and every time we stepped out, we saw something different.

It is fun to walk and to go into the tourist shops. There are many good restaurants on this street. Plan to spend a later afternoon roaming around and stop in one of the many restaurants for drinks and dinner.

St Paul street is touristy between Place Jacques Cartier and Saint-Laurent, too much so, it's not interesting. You'll find that the atmosphere is very different west of Saint-Laurent Boulevard. If it's time for a pause, go up to the 5th floor of the Nelligan Hotel a few steps west of Saint Laurent. There is the SKY terrace, a great place for coffee or a glass of wine. Then head west , you'll basically be getting away from the tourist traps. You will eventually reach Mc Gill avenue where some fantastic restaurants are located: ( Helena, Graziella, Boris, Hambar, to name a few)
