Notre Dame Basilica is a must see in Montreal. Very close to The Old Port this church is magnificent! The architecture reminds us of some of the most noteworthy churches of Europe. The interior is awe inspiring. Include the visit while enjoying Old Montreal. As most tourists will tell you, this place is a taste of Europe in North America. I love my city!

Not what I expected inside. The altar is just amazing. If you have a good low light lens then this is an excellent photo opportunity. The blue hues and lighting make for imposing pictures. The only bummer is that you cannot climb the towers.

I was not overly impressed, yes the architecture is beautiful as is the artwork but it’s busy, so many people, it was noisy and I don’t like that they make you pay to visit. This is an active church and all churches should be open to the public. You are viewing alone and no one to guide you and explain about the church. If you are only visiting montreal for a few days don’t spend too much time at this church. I preferred St. Joseph’s Oratory. More to see and do there.

Very special place to be. People on entrance are asking for no photos inside, only players. We enjoyed.

Must see spot. If you want to avoid crowds and standing in the line to get it, go during mass time. You will get a chance to hear beautiful choir and you don't have to stay for the entire mass if you don't want it.
