Any holocaust memorial is a sad place to visit. If you have never been to one then add this to your trip to Montreal. It is amazing, historical and yes, beautiful. Especially the video collection narrated by the survivors, who are diminishing with the passing years.

Size wise and content wise one cannot compare this holocaust center to the ones in New York or Jerusalem never the less it is inspiring and horrifying at the same time. Horrifying in the sense of what so called human beings can do to others.I was a child survivor and have submitted my testimony as well. This little museum should not be omitted on your next visit to Montreal. You will be witness to those that perished and those that were lucky enough to survive.

I have been to this museum a couple times. I am a history buff. I thought I knew a lot about Canada's reaction to the Holocaust and the mistreatment of Jews. And yet, I learned a lot more. I found the displays to be very comprehensive with a good balance between visual and written material.

For anyone who asks, "How did it happen," a visit to this museum will take you step by step through the years and events that evolved into the holocaust. Your questions about who did what and, more importantly, why so many did nothing will be explained, including stories from those who chose to stay despite all the signs that now seem so obvious. The stories include lessons and warnings for us all.

Located close to a metro station in a jewish commuty. Smaller, well organised Holocaust museum. Informative displays. Telling the jewish story from after 1. WW to after the ending of WW 2.
