Good overview of the history of the wars in Quebec. There is a model that lights up and really helps you understand how the battles players out. Really enjoyed the film and learning about the history

We are avid history buffs and looked forward to experiencing the story of Quebec City's early days with a supporting AV experience. I guess we had in mind the Cyclorama style presented in Atlanta, Georgia for the Civil War's battle for Atlanta. This was not it. It's an interesting story but the presentation was a little drab and lacking sufficient modern age visual support. We probably were affected by the persistent hacking coughs of at least three people in the audience.

This museum offers a paid experience to a history of the battle of the Plaines of Abraham, using a diorama in French and English. It features a sound and light show and lots of information about Quebec history. Guides were good, and the museum is small but effective.

This was one of our first stops during our 5-day Quebec visit, and it certainly paid off. It gives an excellent "bite sized" version of Quebec's military history, including both successful and failed attempts at capture. The use of a fairly impressive diorama and light/smoke show help to visually illustrate the important geographical locations involved.

If you're looking for an in-depth history lesson, this isn't for you, but if you're planning on touring the area and want to know what important "thing" happened at any given place, the Musee du Fort is likely the best place to go BEFORE starting your self-guided adventures.
