We wanted an escape from Provence and Le Mas seemed to fit the bill.

Terrific scenery and the final six km on D10 into Le Mas with soaring rock faces and deep green valleys was certainly exciting. Mist hung in the valleys as we finaslly arrived at Auberge Le Charamel. Isabelle and Regis are wonderful hosts and for Isabelle nothing is too much trouble. She is just the perfect attentive hostess.

The isolated location means that most diners stay over. Who would really want to navigate the D10 in the dark after a few drinks? The other guests were a couple of middle aged motorbike riders and a youthful couple who announced they had ridden up on their push bikes from Nice. Really? Small but nice clean bedrooms.

Lovely ambience in the dining room, with views out over the misty mountain valleys, chilled champagne. The "Romantic Package" includes room, champers, dinner and continental breakfast. We also chose the matching wines for each of the three courses.

The matching of a Beaumes de Venise muscat with the foie gras entree was terrific.

Lovely welcoming hosts and get-away-from-it all location. Good value at just less than 200E for two for the dinner bed and breakfast package.

Thank Sioseeker

This is really a wonderful experience: one of the smallest, most remote places I know and one of the best restaurant...
And both, Isabelle and the Chef, Regis, speak English! There are also some rooms there, if you don't want to drive after a nice dinner ....

Merci à Isabelle et Regis, une fois de plus, c'était délicieux!

At the end of a windy road lies Le Mas : a charming provençal village. The view from the restaurant is a wonder : just take a look at the changing light over the moutain. Friendly & caring service all the way through. Food is made and talked about with love what makes it absolutely delicious. Inspiring place & people!

We stayed at the Auberge for 5 days and we enjoyed breakfast and meals. The view from the terrace is breathtaking and having a genuine french breakfast in such a quiet place is a must have experience.
The restaurant is a great gastronomic moment, all in the plate, no fuss and no waiter ballet: everything is about the taste!
The owners are an extraordinary couple, cheerful and attentive to your demands. The Chef and his Lady are making this modest village a mandatory stop for the lovers of quiet moments, quality time and great dinners.
It's my second journey to Le Mas, the first was in 2012, and this time is even better!
