I didn't stay at the hotel, my review is regarding the Spa. I've been to Trillium Spa frequently over the past 9 years. For its location, this spa is so lovely. The peacefulness and ambiance is great for a relaxing massage or any treatment. Don't expect the chic Toronto-spa-standard...this is local higher end Muskoka spa at its best.

We are very grateful to Robert and Stephanie for all their help in planning our daughter's winter wedding. They went out of their way to accommodate us and make it a wonderful weekend for the bride and groom and family and friends - skating on the lake, snowshoeing, x country skiing, and the Trillium has all this equipment ready to go. We received many compliments about the food and our thanks to Joanne and Chef Jeremy for the preparation and serving of a fun rehearsal buffet and then an awesome wedding dinner. The Trillium does all this with impeccable taste. Nothing seemed too much for them. The accommodations were comfortable and cosy and, being on the lake, made for a lovely view. We highly recommend the Trillium and look forward to a return visit soon.

Let me first say that my husband and I had been to Trillium 3 1/2 years prior for our honeymoon. We stayed for 4 nights. The service was great and the food was delicious and the accommodations were great.

Flip forward to this past weekend. The accommodation was exactly how we remembered- relaxing and cozy. The food on the other hand lacked much to be desired. Steak was too well done with potatoes that looked like raisins on the 1st night. My pasta on the second night had about an 1" of olive sitting on the bottom of the bowl . At breakfast the potatoes were not even cooked.

All and all it was a nice weekend i just wish i would have enjoyed my meals - it put a bit of a damper on the weekend. The menu works - it just wasn't cooked well.

Dear jasper 19
Thank You for your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Trillium Resort and Spa.
I spoke to our food and beverage manager and she had mentioned that when she had done her quality check on both nights it was said that everything was good. I understand that sometimes our guests do not want to bring up any food issues at the time; however it is difficult to solve something that you are not aware of .The chef noted your comments . We do regularly receive great comments for our food and hope that you will return again to give us another opportunity to exceed your expectations.
Sincerely

Robert Henry

My husband and I were just married at Trillium Resort February 5th. We had the most magical winter wedding thanks to the owners Robert & Stephanie and their amazing staff. Our close friends and family made a weekend of it and most stayed Friday and Saturday night. We had the resort to ourselves. Friday night we enjoyed a curling bonspiel and bonfire. The curling bonspiel took place on the outdoor heart shaped rink on the lake. Candle light paths were made for us as well. Saturday morning my bridesmaids, moms and friends enjoyed pampering at the spa. The boys played a game of shinny on the rink and enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and sauna. Our ceremony was head in the large post and beam dining room. The staff did a wonderful job of setting it up to make it feel very special. We were married in the front alcove window with a view of snow covered trees and the lake. Priceless. Next was outdoor pictures with the beautiful landscape that surrounded us. Dinner was fantastic thanks to chef Jeremy, not one guest complaint and the service from the staff was second to none. The dining room was set up beautifully to provide the intimate setting we were hoping for. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. Robert met with us ahead of time and discussed our vision and wishes for the wedding. He was always available to answer any questions. He was very flexible with our wishes. The setting lends a a home type feel where guest felt welcome and comfortable. Whether you are going for a romantic getaway, a family get together or a wedding, this is by far a gem of a resort that must be seen.

Dear Wogs62
Thank You for your great comments regarding your February wedding here at Trillium. It certainly was a pleasure and a lot of fun hosting it. Winter weddings are becoming more and more popular and we will continue to offer all of our indoor and outdoor amenities and activities to make the events special.
Next year our winter season will see Trillium style curling available for all guests thanks to “Tim’s Rink”.
We hope to see you and all your guests again soon.
Thank You
Sincerely

Robert Henry

We spent three nights at the Trillium Resort over the university break. Our three adult children came with us. I booked a chalet and when Stephanie found out that all three kids were coming, she very graciously offered us the adjoining chalet at the same per person rate. Stephanie and her staff; Joanne, Hillary and Jeremy were all so great to deal with.

We arrived on the Monday and were the only people in the resort for the first two nights. Weekends are much busier. As we were the only people in the resort, the chef Jeremy was also our waiter. We enjoyed meeting him and he prepared great meals for us. It was our daughter's birthday and Jeremy made her a great cake.

This is a lovely secluded spot. The surrounding scenery is very nice and the lakeside location offers great views. The lake is owned by the resort and other than two summer camps, there is no development.

The chalets are very cozy and have gas fireplaces and lots of very pretty exposed wood. The furnishings are comfortable and really suit the whole lodge atmosphere. There is no cable but there is a TV and DVD/vhs player and a great selection of movies to chose from in the main lodge.

The bathrooms and the little kitchenettes could do with a bit of an upgrade but really don't deter from the experience of the resort. The showers offer lots of pressure and hot water.

My daughter and I had a pedicure and manicure at the spa which is right in the resort. Sarah was wonderfully welcoming and did a great job. The spa is located in what used to be a house and has all the amenities you would expect and more including a hot tub and steam room which are available to guests who use spa services.

The main lodge is full of big comfy couches and is very homey. Lots of lovely exposed and high ceilings here too. In the basement is a very well equipped gym that we made use of.

We had a wonderful family get together and would love to visit again.
