“Perfect country hideaway with lots of charm and warmth”
Reviewed 3 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We had a wonderful week at Great Burrow Cottage. A very cosy and beautifully thought out cottage with everything you need. We were welcomed by the owner with a fab home made cream tea which was much appreciated after our journey. Spacious main bedroom with a very comfortable bed and lovely big bathroom with great shower and massive bath for a proper hot soak. The chickens and ducks which roam freely were very friendly not to mention highly entertaining. Great location for exploring the Dartmoor area. We very much look forward to returning in the not too distant future to this really lovely cottage.

“Cozy and clean country retreat”
Reviewed 2 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We were so happy we picked this location for our accommodations during a trip to the UK. The owners met us upon arrival, and provided us with proper tea and their own chickens' free range eggs. The accommodations are meticulous, cozy and quite comfortable. The resident ducks, chickens, roosters and sheep also add to the quaint get away. Many thanks to the hosts for such a wonderful week of relaxation away from our agility training camp! Finding it was a bit of fun, but that's more likely due to us being from Canada and not used to rural England directions. The neighbours in the region were also very friendly and approachable.

“Fabulous Place to Relax and Enjoy Dartmoor”

We stayed at Great Burrow in late June and had a lovely stay. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and has great warmth and character. We were met by the owners, Justin and Mary, who were happy to show us round and settle us in, even providing delicious cream teas along with local eggs and milk!
The location is ideal, very peaceful and quiet but handy for exploring Dartmoor as well as eastern Cornwall. Recommend unreservedly!

“Beautiful, comfortable, romantic cottage”
Reviewed 30 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We stayed here for a wonderfully relaxing few days as part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved the cottage and the setting.

The cottage is simply and beautifully furnished and very well equipped - Mary and Justin have thought of everything (unlike many holiday cottages the kitchen has everything you could need). We had terrible weather almost all week but the cottage was so comfortable it didn't matter at all - the underfloor heating and wood stove both came in very handy!

“A wonderful place to stay!”
Reviewed 21 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We highly recommend Great Burrow Cottage - we had a wonderful week there. We were travelling with 3 teenaged children, but the cottage has plenty of room, and the kids enjoyed playing table tennis and exploring outside. The cottage was perfectly situated for exploring both Devon and Cornwall, which was the point of our visit, but it would also be a great place for a restful holiday without sightseeing.

The cottage is just as it looks in the photos, combining old-fashioned charm with modern convenience. It is clean, warm and beautifully set up, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and loads of information provided about local attractions. The hosts, Mary and Justin, are very welcoming and helpful - we were greeted with a cream tea, fresh milk and eggs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will certainly be back if we're visiting Devon again.
