We booked a 2 night stay and dine package which included the 4 course menu on one night. The food is amazing with so many extra touches that make it really special - drinks, nibbles and a little sample of things to come in the lounge first, then your taking through to the dining room (one table at a time so no waiting to be served), all meals bought to the table at the same time, etc. The wine pairings were fabulous. They only book one sitting so you are not at all rushed and can enjoy a coffee or tipple in the lounge again afterwards. We will definitely be going back. I've rated this 5 for service, but would score higher if I could.

If you are thinking of staying at The Salutation Inn don't hesitate and do not miss out on the dining experience as well. Inn , does not do justice to this combined gourmet restaurant /boutique hotel run by a charming and very professional resident husband and wife team. Great food , great room , great service and lots of little special touches .
We would not hesitate to go back and are already looking for excuses to visit the area again.

We were two couples, so took up 1/3 of the hotel's rooms. Both rooms were well fitted out & well looked after. The best thing (almost) was the 'galley' where, instead of aged 'plastic' milk & tired teabags, there was a mini-kitchen for guests with a kettle, Nespresso machine, toasted, fridge (2 kinds of milk) etc etc.
Breakfast was excellent - fruit, granola, full english, kippers, haddock etc etc. And home-made marmalade.

We booked the Salutation Inn for a special birthday celebration and everything was absolutely perfect. The meal was excellent- the quality of the food and wine, the timing and all the little extras could not be faulted so a huge 'Thankyou' to Tom, Amelia and all the team. Ourselves and five couples stayed overnight and breakfast was excellent, again nothing was too much trouble. Our veggie friends said it was the best vegetarian breakfast ever!!
If you are thinking of booing a function or special celebration do not hesitate to book the Glasshouse - it looks stunning when all dressed and lit at night.
Oh, and the Naturalmat mattresses are simply divine.

Thankyou again to everyone,

Carole & Andrew Grimsley

Room Tip: We had the top suite which was lovely and spacious with 2 loos and although overlooking the main street was very quiet.

I booked this for my partners birthday as a treat and i must say that it was very good. The 4 course dinner was excellent , the room was very comfortable and i particularly liked the social areas downstairs. The breakfast served in the glasshouse was very good as well. The staff were all really nice and helpful.
