On the plus side: It was easy to park in the road beside the hotel. The breakfast was a really excellent Continental one with a pot of coffee or tea, a warm, hard-boiled egg, as well as a plate of cheese, meats and salad between the two of us. Also a mixed bread basket with lots of spreads, a fruit basket and orange juice too. The breakfast staff were also very nice. There is a number 60 bus into Erfurt central quite frequently, which departs from a stop only 100 metres from the hotel. The hotel is quite remote from the city but there are some pretty roads to walk around in the evening. Meals can be eaten at the hotel but we did not dine in.
However: There is no lift (we were on the 2nd floor). The small room was clean but quite dated and very spartan. No fan (it was hot), fridge, iron, bedside tables or spare bedding (pillows, blanket). The internet was extremely poor, dropping out repeatedly. And that was after being informed that I had to fill out a form with my name, address and signature before an internet password would be given to me!!! I thought that was a joke but it wasn't! I found this particular request quite startling.More
