We stayed here to meet friends for a couple of nights. Then due to a couple of boat snags ended up staying 16 days.
Good marina, great restaurant with good food. Swimming pool available to marina customers as well. The lightship was a novel feature and the food was very good.
Only one issue was the shower and toilet facilities for marina guests, not great.
Overall though very good and would visit again!

A month ago my husband and I went on our honey moon at Le Phare Bleu (sorry for the delayed review). It blew away our expectations in the most positive of ways. From the moment we stepped off the plane we were met by the most friendly driver named Kevin who brought us to our amazing get away. When we first stepped out of the van and onto the grounds of Le Phare Bleu we were greeted by Shannell with a smile and a welcome basket. She then walked us to our gorgeous beach front villa where we were served champagne and a delicious mango cheesecake. She told us all about the plans she had made for us in our honey moon package, gave us a cell phone for on island use and when she opened the door to our room I was beyond happy to find "Happy Honey Moon" written in flowers on our bed. Sitting on our beautiful front porch we sipped champagne in shock of how beautiful of a hotel Le Phare Bleu was. When I went through the care package we found information as well as an all natural bug repellent, it being the tropics there will always be bugs, that being said as someone who has travelled in many tropical places Grenada was breeze and I barely had any bites and didn't have to use the bug repellent at all.

The first morning we were there we had an early morning dive trip planned and the staff was kind enough to pack us a to go breakfast and lunch for while we were on the boat for no extra charge. This was the beginning for me of realizing how out of the way the staff would go to make sure you had everything you needed. When we returned from our day of diving we rested before we had the pleasure of having our own private dinner on the beach (part of the honey moon package). Our server Chantelle had arranged the table and it was beautiful, we had flowers, shells, candles and of course champagne. The food the staff prepared was incredible, the conj salad was deliciously spiced, the stuffed lobster and lamb were superb and the brownies with ice cream had happy honey moon written in raspberry sauce. All of the food, the beautiful weather and the attentive service made for a night we will never forget.

From there everyday was something from a story book, but I won't go into to much detail besides to say that above all things it was the incredible staff that made our honey moon unforgettable. By day three almost every person who worked there that we ran into knew us by name. The breakfast was served on time every day and was delicious. The island tour was a breath of fresh and air and education on plants as well as history, our tour guide Bubi (I apologize if I spelt his name wrong) was filled with amazing knowledge. We had massages on the front of our villa porch that made us melt into the push and pull of the tides. Oh how we have fallen in love with Grenada and the kindness we were shown.

To get into just the details because all people like to know precisely what the place they are going to is going to be like. Our villa was seafront and had an open kitchen and living room if you chose to leave the shudders/ sliding door pulled open. This allowed for the ocean breeze and tropical air to flow onto us as we had our night cap. The porch had a small round table that was perfect for breakfast for two and let us stare our at the light boat and the rest of the marina. It also had a swinging bench for two which was the perfect place to read a book or intimately enjoy a quiet conversation. There was a full kitchen and few books in it that seem to have been left by past travelers, a travelers library. The living room had a TV, a nice big table for laying a map on, a couch (that could have been used as a pull out bed and all with the joy of still getting to look directly at the ocean while laying in your own living room. The room had a beautiful princess netting (bug net, but hey it looked beautiful) and the best air conditioning system I have ever used! It got cold in there really quick and provided a nice night time reprieve from the heat. The closet was plenty spacious and there is a safe in the closet.

The pool/dining area was a perfect place to relax, they had delicious food options for lunch and dinner. I was always pleased with the food I got and quite often in awe of how wonderfully flavored things were. The pool almost felt private because when we were there most of the time it was just us. It looks out at the marina and towards the island across the way, a perfect temperature practically the same as the incredible ocean water. The also had access to kayaks, paddle boards and hobby cats for playing on the water. The remote location of the hotel also allowed for what felt like complete privacy. The perfect place to getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. That being said they did have a shuttle Grand Anse twice a day or you could call up a taxi if you wanted to explore. Which if you want to explore I highly recommend booking Bubi for a hiking tour, he is a joy to be with and filled with information on local flora and fauna.

Going to the Light Boat was a wonderful experience for the music, food and history. Every Friday and Saturday they had live music, drinks and food on the top deck. Bellow you could read the history of the boat which was quite interesting. The music was delightful and as always the service was incredible.

To top off our wonderful trip I must thank the owner Jana for taking us on one of the last days on a dingy ride to hog island where we got to enjoy a local get together and bbq. It was beyond delightful.

With out hesitation I would recommend Le Phare Bleu to friends, family and strangers alike. It was truly a gift to be able to enjoy our time at the Le Phare Bleu with the kindest staff I have had the joy of encountering. Thank you for making our honeymoon beyond magical.

I was so disappointed with this hotel and service especially after doing so much research and reading all the goods reviews.
It felt as if they were doing us a favour by allowing us to stay.
When we arrived we were informed that only 1 restaurant would be available for the duration of our stay as there were renovation works taking place.
The restaurant was on a boat, which is fine for a one off but not every day the menu was also limited, food was ok. We found out the next day that the renovations where at the kitchen in the deck restaurant which is next to the pool, so we had a numatic drill to listen too for the first few day.
They also advertise that they have a mini market on site, this is untrue, it’s now closed with a desk inside and looks like a storage room. Even in their brochure in the room they state this, never mind it’s on all the websites (pics attached) they advertise on. When I asked about this I was just told there is no shop. The location really is secluded so there is no option to get water, milk etc. other than going into Grand Anse a taxi ride away.
Location wise as I mentioned it is very secluded but we knew that and didn’t think it would be a problem with a shop on site and 2 resturants/bars also they advertise free shuttle to Grand Anse and St George. This shuttle goes twice a day at 9.30am and 1.30pm but if you want to go I was told by reception you need to give 2 hours notice even for the 9.30am shuttle. You cant just turn up and expect it to be there! We avoided this and found a wonderful taxi driver who we used for the entire holiday as staying at the hotel was just not an option.
On the second to last day we went to get lunch around 1.30pm and were told there is no lunch being served today due to staff training. At around 3.00pm a letter was dropped at the villa saying no lunch for the next week was being served. (Bit late notice!)
My husband saw the owner while he was by the kitchen and mentioned to him there was food to which the owner shrugged his shoulders, snorted and strolled past him. This was the attitude we got for 2 weeks. They just didn’t care.
However the chef they brought in to do the training was lovely and provided us with some of the tasters she was preparing as she didn’t realise we had no other options.
They also advertise room service again not true, they serve you breakfast in your room that’s it. You cannot call up for food or drinks to be delivered to your room. Also on one occasion our breakfast dishes were not collected and stayed on the veranda for 24 hours, this was near the end of our 2 week stay and I had given up complaining. During our stay they didn’t even serve you at the pool you had to walk along the deck to the boat and bring your drinks or food back with you.
The private beach is really poor, considering the amazing beaches in Grenada this is one to avoid. It’s hardly a beach. It was always dirty and had a rusty old barge in the middle of the water, not a pretty sight at all (pic also attached)
The staff were hit and miss some where lovely but the majority just rude and unhelpful. The housekeeping staff were actually always a delight. The reception staff the first week were poor and most unhelpful.
The rooms were also lovely and I can’t fault them. Pool area fine and I can imagine had the bar and resturant been open would have been better. Its small though with only around 8 sunlongers so if the hotel is full I could imagine this i being an issue.
Had the hotel informed us of the renovations, restaurant closure, shop closure and rusty barge before we arrived and perhaps offered a welcome drink as an apology it probably would have made things easier. However to arrive with expectations in line with what was advertised is just so disappointing.
I honestly advise to avoid this hotel, there are many more lovely and friendly places to stay especially at the prices charged here. The lack of customer care is unbelievable from owners down to some staff. I would not recommend this to anyone even as a free holiday. Just Avoid!

Thank you for letting us know about your experience during your stay. We are very sorry it was unsatisfactory and you were disappointed with the service you received while with us.

We would like to clarify a few pointers:
Guests were informed on arrival about the restaurant closure, while service was on the Lightship for lunch and dinner along with the reduced menu option offered.

The days the restaurant was closed for lunch guests were advised arrangements can be made at the front office to take them off property.

The Mini Market has been closed for over a year and is not currently advertise on our website, however we failed to remove the printed material from the rooms which have other useful information that the guest may require. However, once the guest raise concern regarding the mini mart, an alternative options is always provided. In a recent case, a shopping list was provided by the guest and the hotel driver went to nearest supermarket to retrieve items as a complimentary service.

On the 9th day of the renovation (27th Sept), letters were delivered to all guests informing them of changes to the restaurant and lunch would not be available from the 28th - 4th for facilitating staff training for the new menu and an alternative solution, as stated earlier, was provided for guests.

While the shuttle service goes into St. George and Grand Anse at 9:00 am and 1:45 pm, respectively, guests were asked to book 2 hours prior as a matter of planning routes to fit the needs of everyone. Guests were always welcome to show up at 9 without booking it, which most persons do.

Again, we humbly apologize for the service you received due to the construction taking place during your stay. We would love the opportunity to host you again and show you the true Le Phare Bleu experience.

The rooms are great kept clean and breakfast is good However this does not make up for the resort overall, firstly the staff simply do not care. We felt for the majority of our holiday that we were an inconvenience to them. The staff do not want to help and if there are any issues you are to blame.

The resort offers a free bus, apparently, if this turns up your doing well and then if you do not get left stranded your doing even better, use a taxi my advice.

Private beach is a loose loose term more like private because no one else would want to visit it! Very dirty as in rubbish we even had a floating rusty old barge anchored to the shoreline. That was nice to look at!

The only place for us to eat was on the boat (which is nice) however limited choice and even then you pay mega money and it probably wont be correct. They even charged us a tip of 15 dollars even though we took 3 pizzas away to eat after waiting 90 mins! Its honestly a joke.

We stayed for 3 weeks, not everything lives up to your expectation when your on holiday we get that but when nothing lives up to it either after spending multiple thousands it really ruins it for you and Its a shame.

The owner on the final day offered us to stay for another 5 days for free knowing we were to be leaving that evening. How nice of him.

Anyway I would seriously consider not staying here, there is nothing around and its hard to get anywhere for little bits and for anything different. The total lack of not caring or looking after us really really shocked us.

We would never return and would never recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: Rooms are nice only saving grace

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate the honest feedback because it lets us know where we need to improve as a hotel. We are truly sorry your experience was not up to the standard of excellence for someone looking forward to a worry-free vacation.

We would love the opportunity to host you again in the future to show you the Le Phare Bleu experience we are known for. Again, we humbly apologize for our substandard behavior and we hope you will give us the opportunity to remedy this situation.
