Bike path, walking and running paths, great place for sunset. The westward section does smell of rotting fish so be judicious or walk fast. Merida drivers at night outside the historic district are aggressive so be careful heading home.

Stinky walk. Wind must be blowing in the wrong direction. Smelt of sewer. Not much of a beach. Not very busy. Lots of room for bikes, runners etc, but didn't see any.

We walked several miles on the Malecon. All the way out to Fuerte de San Miguel and back. Then on another day in the opposite direction to the collection of shore side restaurants (be forewarned that the restaurants located side by side are very persistent in trying to reel you into their particular establishment).

The Malecon is a nice clean pathway along the water to walk, run or ride a bike. It is, like the historic district, very clean. There is no beach area along the shore line, showing mud banks at low tide. But you can see the working fishermen and their boats at various points along the way. We also found some workout stations along the way.

Worth a stroll.

This coast line boulevard is good for walking or running in the evening. Sunset is really nice as sun is dropping in the sea providing really nice colors. If you visit Campeche this is definitely worth checking.

We rented bikes from the Pirate shop on 59. We had checked out others but these were 150 pesos for all day. They had baskets and the bikes were in good shape. We explored the Malecon all day and really enjoyed it. We even went in the evening when it was cooler and stopped at a seafood restaurant by the wharf. Very clean Malecon as was the whole city. Great time spent enjoying the scenery.
