The location of the Aquaplane is really nice, on the bank of the Meuse river. Sitting on the outside terrace for a meal, one has a very nice view on the river, the hills and a quarry on its opposite bank, protected from the sun under large parasols.
Service by the owner is quick, but rather formal and cold. One doesn't get the warm welcome that is customary in other restaurants of this beautiful region.
As to the meal, it was mediocre and, compared to what one can get in other restaurants, overpriced. To say that this is a tourist trap would be exaggerated, but it looks a little like it. Contrary to what I expected, draught beer isn't Belgian, but rather tasteless Diekirch from Luxemburg.
One can't pay with a credit or debit card at the table, but has to go to the bar inside. I had to use two different cards. The owner's wife couldn't get connection with the terminal. Only after the fourth time did the system work. A real loss of time.
I wouldn't recommend the Aquaplane for lunch or dinner, but I would for having a drink while taking in the river scenery.
