Took a trip here to break up the journey north. 10 mins off the M6 on the banks of the canal lies the Mill at Condor Green. We chose a signature room - not cheap at around the £100 mark but spacious, very clean, superb bed and excellent en suite. The weather was not great so parked ourselves in the nice leather chairs in the bar and relaxed. Dinner was tasty - nice belly pork to start and steak for mains. Wine list is not extensive but prices were good. Breakfast was served in a room overlooking the canal. Staff here are relaxed, attentive and friendly

Room Tip: Relax in the bar area

Thank you for your lovely review. It is a lovely place to relax, especially on a miserable rainy day!! I will pass on your very kind remarks to our team who all work hard to make The Mill such a pleasant experience for our guests. We hope to see you again some time maybe in the nicer weather.

Visited as a result of a good review in The Guardian and we were not disappointed. A very nice country inn/hotel. Staff welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Room was pleasant with excellent views over the surrounding countryside. Excellent dinner and breakfast at reasonable cost. We only stayed for one night but will certainly return for a longer visit if we can.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms are restricted by eaves so a ground or first floor room is probably a better option.

We decided to go here after visiting a friend in Knott End. I chose it because it is dog friendly and I am so glad I did. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who took us straight to a table overlooking the canal. He came back a couple of minutes later to take our drinks order. The menu is really good and not too expensive. I had the smoked salmon to start which was delicious, and my husband started with warm peppered mackerel, which he really enjoyed. The most difficult bit was choosing a main course as there were several we both fancied. In the end my husband went with the braised beef and bacon suet pudding, and I went with the lamb hotpot. Both were divine. The portions were great too, not massive but not small either.
Beautiful hotel and restaurant by the canal, will definitely go back and maybe stay overnight as we would like to try the Sunday lunch. Fantastic location, very peaceful as it is at the end of a small lane with no through traffic. Don't hesitate to go.

We were greeted the moment we went in and the excellent service did not stop until we were the last ones too leave . The atmosphere is lovely, decor fresh and clean, good drinks selection, the food was absolutely excellent not one of my party had an issue with any of their meals we all agreed we would happily come back again. Thank you to all the staff for a fantastic evening. You must give it a try.

We stayed one night, having arrived rather late in the afternoon at Manchester aurport, had a good-sized room, calm, very friendly staff, nice breakfast. All in all a hotel where we would stay again when in the neighbourhood. More about the restaurant in the hotel on the appropriate restaurant column.
