Madame requested that we came here, since we have eaten here before and it is in a pretty village, with walks around in order to build up an appetite before. The service is impeccable, warm and personal. The food is always excellent and cooked to order. The menu is not extensive, because of this, so do check it before coming. Each and every dish they serve is cooked to perfection, the puddings are excellent and the coffee they serve is, not suprisingly, top quality. Their pizzas are 'copieuse' to use a French term. If you do choose pizza from here, come hungry!

I just love this place!! Whether it's a special occasion or we just really want some fabulous food with an excellent friendly yet professional service, we go to Gino's.

The family and staff always make us feel special and I love how you never feel pressured to 'eat up and leave' like a lot of places make you feel these days!

I would 100% recommend Gino's and it also has a wonderful private room upstairs for small parties! Had my best friends 30th there and it worked perfectly!

Yes, Gino really IS a genius! In The Pear Tree, he has created something more than a restaurant, he’s created a sense of all gathering to eat in his family dining room. That sense of family gathering is not something that just happens, it can only be uniquely “created”. How is it seemingly done? The ease and warmth of Gino’s personal welcome to “his place”; the informality and ambience of the dining room; the sense of pleasure from the staff as they promptly serve both drinks from the bar or food at the table; the chef who “popped out” from the kitchen for a chat; the sense that nothing is too much trouble to provide you with an enjoyable time; the fact that this ‘home’ provides what it says it will provide. Nothing more, nothing less….a genuine Italian menu. Beautifully cooked, beautifully presented, all from a full menu [meat, fish, vegan, pizza] and ‘specials’ that are moderately priced. Amazingly, unlike some restaurants visited, we didn’t have to book weeks in advance. Although pretty busy on the night [added to ambience], a couple of days did it. Fantastico, Gino, grazie mille è torneremo!

We had booked a table for 7pm, and arrived on time.

We waited at the bar upon arrival for 15 minutes, then had to tell a pleasant young girl at the bar we had a reservation, then an older woman asked "if we wanted to eat inside or out".
As it was a beautifully sunny day we opted to eat outside, only to be told she "didnt know if there where any tables outside (we were not asked when booking where we would like to sit) but we could go and look outside and there where some waiters who might seat us outside", she said "there was a table inside by a window we could have", even though we had made the chioce to eat outside. Seemed strange as usually upon booking you would assume you had a table garunteed.

We walked through to the outside seating only to be ignored by all staff we passed. Then when telling a young male waiter we had a reservation, he said he "did not deal with reservations and would get someone", but did not return to us, after waiting for a further 10 minutes, we told a young females waitress we had a reservation for 7pm and the time was now 7:25, we were seated, with menus, but not asked for drinks.

I spotted 3 spelling mistakes on the first page of these menus which seem significantly reduced from prevoius visits "Tomato rage sauce" being the one.

Another 25 minutes passed, and none of the staff had come to our table, so we decided to leave, 45 minutes with essentially no service, or even drinks is ridicolous.

Its a real shame as we had eaten here a few times before and had a great time, and we know the food is good.

Hoping the service issues were a one-off

Never the less, its hard to want to go back
