“Great family holiday home!”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Really happy with the 5 bed cottage, lots of space for everyone to hang out without being on top of one another and an abundance of crockery and chairs (v important when catering for 10!)
Lovely beach about 10 mins walk, would recommend bring a couple of bikes to spin over to the shop if you don't want to get in the car.
Great walking, running and cycling routes straight out the door if your family are fitness fanatics like mine.
Only one shower and two wcs but between everyone coming and going at different times there was no major pressure for us.
We got great weather so were on the beach most days but did get to Inis Oirr and Aillwee caves and there was plenty more to do if we had time. We ate in most evenings but took a spin to the Stonecutters one night which is a lovely laid back restaurant outside Doolin with loads of toys and an outdoor play area.

“Great break away in Beautiful Fanore”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 for a stay in July 2013

We have stayed twice at the holiday cottages, we are a group of 3 friends and 7 kids between us, the fanore cottages were perfect for a reunion catch up. Anne is extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The first year we stayed in the 4 Bed cottage which is new and modern with plenty of room around for the kids to play.
The second year we stayed in the 5 bed cottage which is much bigger ( its an older house but the extra room was great) its near the road so may not be suitable if you have toddlers but it worked fine for us and anne allowed the kids to play in the field next door which was very safe, its also a shorter walk to the beach and when you sit at the back patio you have are overlooking the sea.
The beach in Fanore is great, Lahinch is about 25 minute drive away , we wemt to the pool in Lahinch on a wet day , the older kids had surf lessons ( in Fanore or Lahinch) , Aliwee cave is also a nice day out. There is just one small shop in Fanore so you need to do a bit of shopping before you arrive in Fanore, but we found the remoteness a welcome break from the hustle and bustle, The Restaurant/Cafe is great and O Donovans bar also does good food. The Walks through Annes Farm up the Burren rocks is a great treck and we were surprised to find Lama in amongst the hill sheep! All in All I would highly recommend the Fanore Cottages.

“Wonderful location, helpful host, and spacious property”

I knew this would be good from the start, easy booking, clear directions and a picture post card location for a wonderfully large cottage and an excellent host in Anne Pilkington.
The cottage itself is within easy walking distance of the beach and the Burren and is perfect for getting out and about.
Within the cottage you have a fine sized kitchen (there were 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 under 10's with us).
The bedrooms were great and having the two downstairs allowed us to keep an eye on the small ones while the bigger ones made use to the huge bedrooms upstairs with large room in-between to keep them happy.
The open fires (2) were great on a cold Easter weekend and nicely stocked with peat before our arrival.
Anne was helpful in details about the area, places to visit, which reduced the need to discover things on what was a long weekend.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a family, or group of adults, holiday - especially if interested in seeing some of the area and wishing to stay in and cook/relax after a long hard day.

“Ideal west Clare family holiday home”
Reviewed 28 May 2012 for a stay in August 2011

We stayed in this beautiful farmhouse one glorious sunny week last august. The house is surrounded by fields, the kids loved having cows and chickens outside. the beach at fanore is five minutes away and you can see the waves breaking from the house. The village is also five minutes away for your basic needs.
The house itself is very comfortable with lots of room, all the services you would expect are included yet it keeps a traditional charm.
The location is completely private and at the heart of the spellbinding burren area, the views to the front of the house give a vista of the limestone landscape and you can have breakfast outside in the back watching the sea roll up onto the sandy beach.
This house and location are the perfect balance to a hectic lifestyle, both the kids and especially the adults were sad to see the end of our week.

“Ideal for a Group weekend away!”
Reviewed 26 May 2012 for a stay in October 2011

So, if you are travelling to the Burren, Co. Clare for a group weekend away, this house is ideal. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The house is very big and spacious. We found it to be clean and warm. The view out the back is amazing, the Aran Islands and Atlantic ocean. We were a group of Mountain Bikers attending "The Caveman" Race. Thus it was close to the Caves, hills, shop, pub etc. It would also be ideal for a surf, rockclimbing, walking, fishing, art groups or indeed a large family!

If you a Father Ted fan, you will recognise many of the locations from the show! Loads of fun.
