We had a lovely stay at the Control Tower. It was a real treat. The breakfasts were beautifully cooked with local apple juice and ingredients. And all options were provided for a vegan: marge, soya milk, yogurt, and yummy biscuits to go with my cuppa during the day.
The decor is fab with lots of attention to detail. We stayed in the Stirling Suite and we loved this space and it was fun having our breakfast delivered.
Nigel and Claire, the owners, were warm, friendly and the perfect hosts. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

My brother and I booked a surprise treat for our parents and us to celebrate their Golden Wedding. From the very first email to the moment we left the attention to detail and hospitality was incredible!
We had a warm welcome from Claire & Nigel with a roaring fire, tea and cake in the lounge followed by a tour of the tower by Nigel! Highly recommended this to learn so much about the tower!
We had the tower to ourselves in the evening and played games and sat relaxing in front of the fire enjoy a drink. Claire had organised a mini fridge to keep our bubbles chilled too.
The bedrooms were all unique and beautifully presented all very cosy and lovely bedding. Lovely tea and coffee too.
We had a fabulous shower and lovely lavender toiletries.
The breakfast was just wonderful, coming downstairs to a beautiful table with a roaring fire. There was a lovely selection of cereal, granola compote and also the most delicious spiced pairs. Followed by a cooked breakfast all freshly prepared to order. The drop scones were a huge hit with the table too. Plenty of tea coffee and proper apple juice. All of the suppliers are locally sourced too!
All in all it was the most wonderful place to have had the privilege to stay at. It was lovely stepping back and reminded me of weekends at my grandparents due to the decor.
Another highlight for us were the cats. They were gorgeous but are kept away if you are not a fan.
This beautiful gem of a place and it's wonderful hosts come highly recommended and we shall most definitely return.
Claire and Nigel should be so proud of their hard work they put into their home and thank you for sharing it along with the insight into its history attached to WW11.
A true gem of a place. Well done!

The owners have done a superb job in restoring this lovely B&B using many original 1930's features. The bathrooms are fantastic. Great breakfasts, great service and great, calming comfort. Visitors learn so much about the history of this fascinating former airfield control tower.

We’ve stayed at dozens of B&Bs over the last 30 or so years and I think we can safely say that the Control Tower is by far the best we have ever stayed at.
We were welcomed by Clare & Nigel (who also doubled as our breakfast porter ) at the front door which was a really nice touch and set the scene for the rest of our stay - Clare even phoned a local pub restaurant to reserve us a table that evening.
We stayed in the Stirling Suite which, like the rest of the rooms, is set out in the Art Deco style with original furniture and bathroom fittings. I know this is a regular comment made about the Control Tower, but the attention to detail really is staggering. These guys have put so much work into this project and they deserve all the success they get.
Everything has been well thought out and we wanted for nothing. There was no TV which was great. We spent the evenings on 1930s jigsaws - we became a bit obsessed if I’m honest! - dining out and chatting.
Breakfast was delivered to the suite by Nigel with whom we enjoyed some interesting conversations, and the food included everything from cereal, yoghurt, fruit, a bottle of fruit juice, teas, coffee, preserves, toast and that’s before we got to the cooked breakfast. All served on period crockery and at a fully laid - and laden - table.

We can’t speak highly enough of the Control Tower. We will definitely be going back this year.

Room Tip: They are all fabulous

We stayed here for a night 9th December, a truly unique place to visit. The owners have worked hard to achieve such a stunning establishment and their attention to detail is superb. Breakfast was delicious- all freshly cooked to order. A quirky experience for anyone interested in WW2 history. We had a talk and tour of the property before leaving which was extremely informative. All in all Brilliant.
