Recently refurbished with fresh paint, new bathrooms and fresh window treatments, this boutique hotel in the Maipo Valley is a superb stroll down Chile's 19th century history. Set in beautiful gardens, & located near a number of vineyards, it is a very relaxing place to stay in elegant surroundings with excellent meals & wines.

Room Tip: Choose a suite, such as #106

We spent this past weekend at Casa Real hotel. We knew from some friends that the place is beautiful ; photos in their web page confirmed it. We had high expectations before going. Nor our friends words neither the photos in the web page can transmit what we found and lived during our stay.
Trying to make a reservatio on line we found prices were not published, we were required to make a telephone call after wich they sent us all the information in an e-mail. This may sound a little strange but this is the way they work, and it can work for your personal advantage. At first we were informed it was not possible to arrive on Friday evening. I asked if they could do anything to make it posible and after 2 days we were told the manager had permited it as an excepetion for us.

Arriving from Santiago to the property is quick an s simple. Just use waze. It is 55 minutes south of Santiago.

The hotel used to be the old 1880 manor house of one of the wealthiest families in Chile It is not a very big house It has been restored. The building is fine but the furniture and decoration of the rooms and commmon areas is not yet as one would expect for the importance of the property. It is just fine. The terrace, the old church and the park are absolutely beautiful and delicious places to visit and enjoy. You will find silence, discretion, wonderful sights, slow walks discovering the corners of the park, hearing different kinds of birds, smelling different flowers, even taking a fruit (figs, oranges, lemmons, etc) from the tree.

Service is the another memorable aspect at the hotel. It is absolutey personalized. Just a few but extremely efficient and friendly persons took care of us in every aspect. Not did they only satisfy our requirmentes but were enthusistic carrying on little conversations with us whenever we wanted to know about something, They are the real hosts of the house. Don Manuel was such a nice, efficient and amusing person. He told us about so many little secrets, stories, and tips; he showed us aruond the whole house, suggested what we could do and at what time and was always ready to do exceptions for us when we were not on time.

Service includes breakfast, lunch, tea time, sunset wines tastings , dinner and late drinks or coffe is you desire. Brakfast and tea time I must say could be improved They are just OK. All other drinking and eating moments were excelent.

One “must” tour is the prime wines tour. The hotel is nearby the vineyads , the winery a restaurant and a wine shop. We were very lucky to have Juan Pablo to take just the two of us in a horse ridden wagon to visit all theese places. He spent the morning with us, time during which he explained us about the importance of the ground, the climate, the age of the plants, the minerals and so many other aspects that make expertice in wine making. We visted the winery and the underground deposits and he finaly gave us (total begginers) a “wine tasting Master Class” I would properly say it was a master class because he knew how to come down to our level, teach us patiently and inteligently what to find in each wine and how to find it. He really loved his job and was pationate about teaching us the tricks and ways to get what a good wine can give. After an hour he succeded in transmiting us the basic skills to appreciate fine wines and to how to pair them with food. Juan Pablo was a great teacher we sincerily recommend.

At the end of the day, we loved our stay at this beautuful, quiet, relaxing, inspiring small hotel. The park the terrace, the silence and the service are exceptional. We will surely come back, hopefuly soon, again

Dear David;

We really appreciate your words and the time you took to write them.
We always try to do our guest experience the best possible, always trying to make exceptions because we understand that every guest is different from the other.

Almost all furnitures in common areas are original from the house but we know we have to improve some of them, about rooms, we have made some important improvements, we recently change all beds, remodel all bathrooms and change al room floors.

I am going to inform the staff about your kind words.

Kind regards,

There are no words to describe this hotel. Set in the middle of the vineyards, this former summer home is surrounded by ponds and magnificent gardens. The peaceful quite setting is so relaxing. Visit the on site Andean museum and taste some of the best wines in Chile. The food is absolutely delicious, have dinner on the patio overlooking a pond with two swans. The rooms are recently completely redone to modern standards, yet the rest of the property maintains its original charm. The staff is so friendly and helpful. This was our second visit, it remains our all time favorite hotel.

From the moment we walked into Casa Real, we knew that we had perhaps found the perfect hotel! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The service was impeccable. We were greeted by name and told to make the house our home for the duration of our stay. We had unlimited access to the garden, pool, house and were given access to bikes to do some exploring.

The room we had overlooking the courtyard was beautiful. It was clean and traditional with a comfortable bed and a nice sitting area. The bathroom was small, but completely redone with all of the modern amenities. The room was perfect for our needs.

The house was gorgeous. We enjoyed playing pool at the pool table, cocktail hour and tea times on the veranda, and enjoyed hearing about the history of the house (original art, architecture, family history) from the manager, Diego. I would highly recommend enjoying the breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. The food was amazing (Chilean specialties) and the service was 5 star. They also paired the courses with wines from Santa Rita which were all wonderful.

Exploring the gardens and relaxing by the pool were definite highlights of our Casa Real stay. It is truly an oasis in Chilean wine country. The pictures are beautiful, but do not do the house and gardens justice. You have to see them for yourself!

We never wanted to leave!

I stayed at Casa Real for 2 nights with a cycling touring group. Every room was gorgeous with the lower level opening to the quiet courtyard. Newly remodeled and reopened right before my visit. The public areas are beautifully furnished and are historic. The food was excellent and the staff replenished wine and spirits free upon request (not sure if that was just part of our group tour arrangement) so no need for a minibar. The grounds extensive for walking and the gardens are beautiful. Because of the historic and antique furnishings I'm not sure this is a good place for kids, but I know the staff would bend backwards to accommodate. There isn't a thing I would change about my visit.

Room Tip: Most of the lower level rooms open to the courtyard. I don't know about the view on the upper level.
