Spent the week with my family (9 year old and 6 year old) and had a great time. The resort is right on the beach where there is great snorkeling. It’s on the East End where it is much quieter. There are less dinner choices but we still found a lot of excellent nearby restaurants. We would use the pool in the afternoon and it was mostly empty except for us. The resort provides as many towel exchanges as you want per day and the room was clean and spacious with great views of the water. As a plus right across the street is an excellent Italian restaurant and a food store with everything you need. The only downside is there is a $200 electricity fee for timeshare owners, although the resort made it well known when we arrived so there were no surprises. I would recommend and would definitely return.

As a frequent visitor and once resident of grand cayman I feel like I’m very familiar with most attractions and hotels in the area. That being said this was the first time we stayed at Wyndham Reef. This trip was a mixture of business and pleasure and we wanted some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of seven mile beach. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this resort!!!! Our room was huge and very clean! The bed was VERY comfortable, the coffee maker, toaster, fridge and kitchen supplies were awesome as we saved a lot of money by eating breakfast in our room! Our room had a patio facing the pool and we were just a few steps from the pool and beach! We hung out on our patio, ate snacks and snorkeled from our patio door! The pool bar was also very close and the drinks and food we great and priced reasonably (for GC). We also had room service from the hotel and from the Italian restaurant across the street. There is also a small grocery store and liquor store across the streeet. Yes it is a bit of a drive to seven mile beach (30-45 minutes) but the amazing staff, large comfortable rooms and amazing access to beach was above and beyond what we expected and well worth the drive!!!!
PS Fast FRIENDLY service is not something the island is known for.... every staff member was fantastic!!!! We will never stay anywhere but Wyndham for future trips!

Dear LuJean W,

We are delighted to read "We can’t say enough wonderful things about this resort!!!!” regarding your recent experience with us. Each day our entire team dedicates themselves to exceeding guest expectations and putting our guests’ needs first.

We are also happy to read that you took advantage of the snorkeling that is just steps away from all of the units which as you noted are all beachfront.

We look forward to welcoming you back on your future trips to Grand Cayman. In the meantime, we wish you safe and happy travels.

My wife and I stayed ten nights at the hotel next door, but visited Wyndham enough to rate it, and comment upon it.

It appears to be recently modernised, and in particular, the front desk is bright and airy. The service there was very good / with a smile. The resort is set right along the beach and Caribbean seafront at the East End - about 45-50 minutes from the airport. The beach is cleaned and groomed daily, and do it always looks good. The resort has a short boardwalk / pier for day boats and excursions. There is a dive shop on site (and another next door).

On Thursday nights, the Bearfoot Man dinner show is staged from 7pm. Either take dinner, or a couple of drinks from the bar - otherwise it is free. We enjoyed this very much. It is very funny, and despite a little innuendo, if family-friendly.

We enjoyed it on our beach/drinks/show visits, and we'd definitely stay there on a future visit to Grand Cayman. Please give me a "Helpful" vote if I've informed you. Thank you.

If you want five star luxury this is not the place for you. It’s accommodation is mainly time share and is a bit dated. The staff are excellent and any small snags were dealt with speedily. My husband spent a lot of time diving with White Sands Water Sports. He had a fantastic time - excellent diving and professional staff. The icing on the cake seeing a 4 metre Hammerhead shark! Yes there is seaweed but hey it’s the seaside! Do I recommend yes. Would I return possibly not. It’s a very long commute from Scotland!

This would be good if you just want to dive or sit on the beach or use the pool. I like to swim in the ocean and the water was not great here-too much sea grass growing.
Property is OK. A little dated but clean. No crowds was a good thing and there is a Subway on site where you can get reasonably priced food. small grocery store across the street was nice too. We did not get pressured to buy timeshare.
