Very friendly hosts. Rooms ok but could be cleaner. Found a pair of shoes under the edge of the bed so wondered how long they had been there without being noticed when room was being cleaned. Also no cold water the following morning (which was needed for shower) so a bit of a pain. However fixed as soon as we mentioned at breakfast but then too late for us to shower. Think they are trying to update so could be a great find once updated. Worth noting that the pub isnt open to the public on Monday (wasn't mentioned when booked via hotels.com). Whilst not an issue for us as bar and food available for guests, if you looking for a more sociable venue on a Monday evening, keep this in mind

Nice food - friday night is fish night. Not overpriced. Good beer. Friendly staff. What more do you want from a pub? I'm continuing this review because Trip Advisor won't accept reviews of less than 200 words. Why use 200 words when you can say what you want to say in less??

Friendly welcome with a good hot meal served by very nice lady cook. Bedroom very basic, bathroom door falling off and very thin curtains, but comfortable bed. Bar music turned off at midnight.
Breakfast - no sign of the usual fruit juice, cereals etc, straight to cooked full English. Sadly soft furnishings in bar badly worn out
Back up steep plain wooden back stairs to pack and leave
Sorry but this is not what we had expected from reading previous reviews

Had a twin room and breakfast.

It's basic but clean and comfortable, friendly Landlord, amazing breakfast.

For the money good value and if in the area again, I would book again.

Lovely area, scenic, some of the country lanes are a bit scary, especially if you meet a car coming the other way.

I stayed here with my partner before going to Glastonbury. The staff were welcoming and friendly, giving us advice for local amenities and catered to my vegetarian diet without hesitance. Free parking is a bonus with plenty of space. The rooms were clean and I had a great night sleep. Would definitely come back again!
